Know where Moto's Bar is out on Long Beach? Meet me there. Nancy boy.It didn't take me long, I was out of the hotel before anyone could even notice I was leaving, not that they would care anyway. The ride to the bar wasn't that long, I mean, I had other things on my mind other than how long it would take to get there. Mostly it was about this group ( Read more... )

Nothing quite beat the taste of a jagr bomb. Exception being a bloody jagr bomb, but those weren't exactly allowed on the 'got soul' diet plan. Burn in hell Michael Thurman, you ponce. Where was I? Jagr bomb, third one since I got here, well almost number three.

"Sit down an have a drink Angel. Loosen you up a might, be a good thing." Christ he looked tighter then a nuclear submarine. Stomping in here, not even bothering to oogle the goodies a few of the ladies had on display. Know I'm good looking and all, but a bloke has to look once in a while. "In a hurry to get back to all the suffering are ya?"

Have a drink? I raised my eyebrows and looked around. Everything looked dirty, but then again, I was now used to drinking in the bar of Wolfram and Hart, which of course, I'd never be doing again. But, this was what I really was, I guess. Back in the day you could say. Shrugging, I sat down beside him and a big busted lady came up, asking me what I'll be having.

First thing that came to mind was Jack. Looking over at Spike and what he was drinking, I decided against that and went with it. "Jack, double."

Nodded over at Spike, "Guess you could say that," I said and straightened up my jacket a bit. "What made you wanna come out here? Where have you been the last couple of weeks anyway?"

Heard his question and matched his shrug with one of my own. Took em near fuckin two months to wonder where I'd trotted off too.

Fact was I hadn't gotten far. But he didn't need to know that, now did he?

"Here an' there. You know, flitting about." Flitting? kept up this load and he might just buy my metrosexual story about living in the city by the bay.

"Spent a night out on Alcatraz. You ever been? Imagine Faith woulda loved it."

Flitting? I almost wanted to chuckle, but the urge wasn't strong enough. The bartender came back and set everything out in front of me. Instead of him taking the bottle away, I told him to keep it and laid money on the bar so I didn't have to worry about it later. There wasn't really anything to drink back at the hotel and well, I'd just take this with me.

Alcatraz? I glanced at him, then narrowed my eyes when he said that Faith would have liked it. I slammed back the shot and the glass hit the table before I stood up, grabbing the bottle.

"If you're coming back, come now, if not, then go your own way," I said and turned around, heading out of the bar. I wanted to kick his ass for doing that, taunting me. He should know better. I walked outside and waited next to the door to see if he could come out.

Was regretting bringing up Faith before the words even left my mouth. The bird had been in jail, only reason I'd mentioned her. Same way I used to rip on Xander for being a tool, Wes for being a tool, and well, Angel for being a tool.

Grabbed what was left of my drink and followed the pale assed wank out the back door. "You might want to take a second or so and get over yourself. You were evil, she died. She tried to do the same to you when she was evil herself so quit being so bloody moody."

Besides, it wasn't like I'd gone and mentioned Cordelia the whore, now she was the one who'd really screwed us all.

"Get over myself!?" I yelled and pushed up from the wall, taking a few steps toward him. He didn't understand. Or maybe he did, but he was taking this all as a joke. I wasn't. I killed Faith and now I have to think about that ... everyday, for the rest of my life and he thinks it's funny to just joke about it.

"It's my fault Spike, just stop ... bringing Faith up," I said and turned around, shaking my head as I walked back to the car that I drove in.

Here I was, bringing him back because I basically begged him for help with everything and now he was ... didn't family mean something?! Of course, I only bring that up ... now, not like I did much anyway. I needed a drink, I needed ... something and I knew I wasn't going to get it here.

"I'm not moody," I said evenly as I got into the car and slammed the door.

No idea why the sod I keep following this drama queen around. Damn git showed up looking for a fight, was just giving him what he wanted. "Know what Angel? Living in that hotel with that pack of women has made you soft." I'd been down that road myself, what with the slayer's basement back in the Sunnydale days.

"I'd even wager that you'll start cryin if I let you finish that bottle." Slid into the opene passenger seat of his car and took the bottle from him before he could so much as say boo. "Don't imagine either of us wants to deal with that. Where too?"

I wasn't soft, I was just ... thinking about alot of things. Things that he would understand if I chose to tell him, but since that isn't an option, I'll just keep my mouth shut. Giving him a narrowed eyed look, I shook my head and hit the gas when he got inside of the car.

"Not going to cry you ass," I muttered and drove off, heading back to the hotel. Reaching forward, I turned on the radio and just let the music play. Maybe then I wouldn't have to hear him. Although, I don't have that kind of luck do I?

"Where do you think we're going?" I asked him and cracked a small smile. "The hotel with the women who make you 'all soft.'"

"Oh buggar that." Hotel with the women my arse. Good for nothing Angel, leave to him to decide it was time to drag me back to his sodding motel. Hell, I'd take him to a hotel if he wanted, just not the one with the bleedin slayer in it. She had nothin to say, and neither did I.

"Think your going to just get us all home and everything will be bonzer in your happy little family? You must be getting senile, the lot of us can't stand each other for more 'n five minutes, providin none of your girls is on the rag."

Wanted to smash the bottle in his face, take that smile right off of his face. Instead I took a healthy chug and gave the car door handle a tug. Time to get off this ride.

I sighed and looked over at him. He was getting on my nerves, but mostly it was because I had to put up a fight with him just for him to see reason, which of course, I should have thought about before coming here, but I thought it would be easier. Apparently, I was wrong.

"We need to be a team again ... you have a choice of coming back or not, but I would rather you come back. We need people on our side. Just because we're out of Wolfram and Hart, doesn't mean that they're not coming for us. Alyx is still there, she took over ... she's powerful."

I didn't know what else to say, besides giving him an ulitmatum, but I'd wait for that. He wanted to be part of the group before and now I'm giving him a chance to be part of it. Before things got in the way, but I think it will be better this time. It has to be.

"Only thing Alyx has working for her is a nice rack." Him and his team speeches. Been hearing that load of bull from him for the better part of my undead life. Used to be the 'rah rah, four of us can bleed Europe dry' sort of talk. Now it was this 'rah rah, together with the women who hate us we can stop evil dead in its tracks' crap.

Sad part? I was buying what he was selling. Didn't much matter that I knew we'd likely end up dead again. Had to do something was the thing. "Fine let's go to the hotel and get this over with."

I nodded at him for that, because well, that night in the pool when I didn't even know what Alyx was ... yeah, she has a nice -- wait, I'm not thinking about that. I don't want to think about that. When he said 'let's to back', I was relieved cause now I can think about more important things than .. Alyx's chest.

Pulling back onto the road, I headed toward the hotel and turned up the radio, just something to calm me and help me think.

"Figure tomorrow, we'll have a meeting -- something, we have to get our heads straight and just remember what we have to do. We can't get jaded this time. Nothing can effect our feelings of taking Alyx out."
