Nah, I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. Maybe it's just another weird thing this world is doing.

Oh! When people are new to something, a welcoming committee is a group of people who makes sure the newbies know what's going on and try to make them feel comfortable!

Something like that, yes! And in this case, they'd tell them what goes on here and stuff like that. Maybe even give them directions to a place to stay.

You can still say hello! What I also want to do is get a list of information, so people who don't know this world as much as others can answer questions and stuff too.
