It seems like I should have things to blog about aside from work and LotRO, but sadly that's the nature of my days these days. Work's going good but apparently because I was so good on the phones and at fixing situations and working on my own I've been sent upstairs to work on (predominately) workorders. It's all well and good but things were more fun in the bullpen and 15 emails requesting a new group be made in AD aren't exactly as stimulating as working the phones. This seems like an odd position for me since historically I've always preferred the email over the phone. In either case, assuming my contract goes anywhere at the end of September at least, it should just be a temporary situation.
LotRO's been more than impressive of late. They started the summer festival last Friday and I haven't seen an event this awesome since the old UO days. I won't go into all the details but let me just say that the event includes player horse races, dancing competitions, and a pub crawl across the Shire. And on that note, the drunken effect in this game is just glorious. I did wind up going to that kinship fair thing and had a great time RPing with the random people there, though I didn't join any kinships. It's rather seeming like I'll hit 50 before I'll really join up with anyone. Garaf's 33, Esslar's 21, and Pell's 36 so... yeah, I'll hit 50 with one of them in a couple weeks for sure. I'll be suitably amused when that happens.
I was playing on Sunday and just had the strong urge to write an RP post. Not for any particular plot or purpose but just for fun. And so I did and I posted on our server's forum, since I wasn't really sure what else to do with it. And now I've got a couple replies from people looking for me to continue the story. This has me a bit flabbergasted. It was just unexpected really.
I did finally sell that laptop. This is especially good since now I can afford groceries for this month.
