Another Round?

Mar 19, 2014 21:23

We're getting closer and closer to Lisa's birthday, so I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing another round.  We were fairly successful last year in donating to several worthy causes, but I'm just curious as to whether or not the interest level and willingness to participate is still there.

If it is, I was sort of thinking maybe we could do something different to keep the event fresh, maximize participation, and most importantly, guarantee that people receive their items quickly.

Instead of auctioneers offering items up for bid, perhaps donators could make a post detailing the donation or volunteering they will do along with prompts, and then anyone in the community can fulfill those prompts.  Sort of like a stocking community.  That way, people get more for donating, more quickly hopefully, and perhaps in turn, they will be willing to give more?

The other idea I had is one that would run alongside the auction part of this community.  As you may be aware, Lisa is turning 48 this year.  So I had an idea for "48 days of charity."  People who participate would aim to do as much volunteering as they could in those 48 days.  The person who did the most would get an Amazon or iTunes gift card or something along that lines.  What type of volunteering or activism you would do would be up to you.

Or we could do what we did last year... or we could do nothing at all XD

I'm just throwing some ideas out there in case people wanted to try something different but still do some good work in the upcoming months.  Please let me know if you're interested, not interested, possibly interested, wandered in here drunk, etc.
