You may call me Mrs. now. :)

It still hasn’t completely hit me that we’re married. I’m wondering if it will change when we get the rings, or when we are finally together. I hate waiting.

The reception turned out to be exactly as I expected it. Lovely in some aspects, dreadful in others. You always take a risk when you invite family members, and you know they don’t know how to behave properly in society. My brother w/friends showed up very late, in SCA garb, and proceeded to offend almost everyone with his superior attitude. He was rude, elitist, and offensive. And I can’t even tell him this, because he’ll take it as a point of pride. Mission accomplished, so to speak. Whatever.

I had a couple of groping uncles, of course.. But they were put in their place quickly enough, with people making physical threats at one of them. None of them were as impolite to me as they normally were, but that may have had something to do with the wedding dress. Sadly enough, there were plenty of other girls and women to grope, so they tried.

Everyone else was great. Mom was able to be there, which had worried me. She had been very sick, in the hospital and then recovering in a convalescent home, but she was able to get away for a few hours and go to the reception. She looked very nice, too. She’s starting to get better, slowly.

My aunts were sweet, too. One of them brought a groom’s cake, German chocolate, and that was soooo good. My sister made the wedding cake, and did a fabulous job of it. Of course she did, she used to do that professionally. The other aunts brought me money. That’s always a good gift.

For our first dance, we used the wedding waltz from “The Godfather.” It was lovely. Jasper doesn’t dance much, but he actually didn’t do bad. I think for his next birthday, he may get ballroom dancing lessons.

All in all, it was a good day. There were some things I wish were different, and as far as I was concerned, we could have just not bothered. But, I think that would have been a huge disappointment to some of the family that I do care about, so I’m glad we did it.
