Hi LJ Peeps!
I haven't really posted much of substance lately, have I?
So, there was this holiday weekend we just had... Hope all yours were good.
On Thursday
hellbob & I headed over to my aunt's house for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Lots & lots of delicious food. Followed by the traditional game of Trivial Pursuit. Rather than Aunts vs. Everyone Else we went Boys vs. Girls this year. We also played the 20th anniversary version which the Aunts HATE because they have the original genus version memorized and they don't like that there are questions about things they've never heard of, like Kids in the Hall... After two games hellbob & I headed home to go through the ads & strategize our Black Friday shopping.
Friday hellbob woke me up at 5am. We showered and headed out to Best Buy. We now have a Playstation 3 and Rock Band 2. Also, I picked up Supernatural Season 3 for only $14.99!!!! We hit a few other stores and picked up a few miscellaneous movies. Then after we got home I headed on in to work. I could have taken the day off, but I don't get vacation or holiday pay, so instead I opted to still leave the photo lab closed, but go in and scrub the racks on all three of my machines so they would be nice and clean for the Christmas season. I probably put in about 5 hours or so... Then I came home and played RockBand w/hellbob for a while. After that it was off to Chatterbox for
scotia_girl's birthday.
Saturday was lazy. There was a little more RockBand, and some grocery shopping. Unfortunately we also got a call from Rick's Aunt Sue that his Grandma's brother Joe and died. He was 90 yrs old, and he went fast & painlessly from an aneurism with almost all of his family there, so it was about the best circumstances they could have had.
Today we got up and hit the road at about 11 to head up north. Last night hellbob had decided that we should run up to visit his grandma since she sounded pretty down on the phone after hearing about Joe. Turns out that Joe's son Jim & his wife had also decided to drive up to visit her. They live in Vegas, but had flown to Minnesota when they got the call about Joe. It was nice to get to visit with them, and I know Grandma was happy to have so many people come see her. Then we stocked up on meat (you can't find really good porketta here in the Cities) and headed on home.
For a long weekend I really didn't get much relaxing done!
