OK. So I'm registered now for two of the six classes I need to graduate.
I have Graphic Design Problems 1 on Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
I have Painting 1 on Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30 PM to 7:45 PM. (I'd originally had this class signed up for at 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM on Mon & Wed. New time sucks but is better than nothing.)
The other class I need that I haven't been able to get into yet is Print Production 2. It is on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 4:40 PM.
Since I'm now registered for 6 credits instead of 3 I can get my financial aid, so I will be going to school this semester. I just don't know if I'll be able to get that one class I need. We'll just have to wait & see next week.
Now my decisions for if I don't get into that class are to take just the two classes I need, or to also take an elective that's not required, but would be both useful and interesting.
The two electives I'm looking at are:
Digital Photography I on Fridays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Description: This course is an introduction to the digital capture process and digital workflow. The main emphasis will be on RGB color theory, digital measurement, digital input through digital cameras, flatbed and film scanners, and the output of digital image files. You must provide your own digital camera, minimum of 4 mega pixels, digital SLR preferred.
Painter on Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 4:40 PM
Description: In this course, you will learn the effect of rendering digitally in natural media, image editing and animation. You will generate original art and manipulate images with concern for print reproducibility and digital display, using the Painter software and a graphics tablet.
I'm leaning towards the Painter class because I really don't know that software at all yet, and also then I would just have classes on Tuesday & Thursday. There are enough openings in the class that I wouldn't have a problem waiting to find out about PP2 before deciding. .
