Hmm, you know, I never really thought too hard about what specifically their torments would be. Arthur most fears being abandoned - for him, just flashing back to those years after his coven was killed, when he locked himself up alone in an empty house with piles of ash where people used to be, that would be hell for him. Screaming and crying and nobody being there to hear you, and this time, no Matthew to drag him back out of his depression and make him realise that he still has something.

Alfred is more difficult, because he's too crazy to be afraid of most things. What does freak him out is not being able to fight back. He strongly dislikes feeling helpless. His confidence mostly comes from the knowledge that, if he wanted to, he could escape this cell, or he could snap that person's neck, or he could do a runner off into the wide blue yonder and not very much could stop him. Being overpowered or weakened, though not necessarily physically harmed, would be pretty psychologically ruining for him, who has had power all his life in some way or form (whether over his brother Mattie when they were kids or over hapless murder victims when he was older).

I don't actually know really, I'm mostly rambling. After they've been left to stew in their own torments for long enough their souls are devoured by demons either way. |D
