I'm excited because Kurt is about to teach me to drive a stick shift. Yep, I'm gonna drive the 'stang. This is in prep for the purchase of the pretty car that no one in my family wants me to get. Except for Olivia. She wants me to get it because it has a sunroof. She said "Mama, you can get that car if you want to but next time you get a car you should get a convertable." I actually hate convertables. She also said "Are you gonna fall asleep while your driving and wreck the new car too?"
I am a terrible mother in some ways. I set forth a not so great example.
She knows how I feel about cigarettes though. She asked me yesterday if I wanted to smoke any cigarettes. And of course I said "No, cigarettes are bad for you. They give you dideases." And she said "What kind of diseases?" And I said "Cancer and emphazema and yellow teeth." She said "Well they're not bad for Mr. Kurt." and i said "They are bad for Mr. Kurt and he should stop smoking them, but Mr. Kurt is a grown-up and that's his buissness. But just cause he smokes doesn't mean we have too." I did good, right!?
She also knows that when you drink too much beer sometimes you get mad and hit your friends. (Thanks Krystal. Your beatdown is my moral of the story)
We went to Mass this morning. The homily (sermon) was about always being prepared to meet your maker. And about it being more important to win the small daily battles against temptation rather than the one big battle. So that was comforting. I won the battle against sleep this morning. Have so far today won the battle against cursing my mother today.
I have no been getting along with her lately. She is like a monster at night. During the day she is reasonably easygoing and kind, but at night when I have friends over- in the back yard no lees, not in the house- my goodness.
However today is Sunday and I am easy. I am off of work for the next 3 days. (although LaGina walked out last night so I might pick up a shift)( I need the money, but I want the free time)
Tommorrow is the first day of the first full week of Pre-K. I will get Olivia to school early. I will!
