But it wasn't. Chloe had been there and had seen everything. A werewolf, an actual, real, werewolf, she'd seen him transform back into a human with her own eyes.

She'd been just around the corner when Dean got the call from his dad and she just couldn't stop herself from following because it sounded pretty serious, besides, she had managed to catch the location.

It wasn't until she caught Dean staring and squinting in the direction where she was hiding in the cornfield that she knew there was a really strong possibility she'd been caught.

And that was when she held on to the camera that was around her neck tightly and ran.

The rustle of corn leaves had him swearing and jumping to his feet. He yelled back to his family to take care of the body and took off in the direction that Chloe had run.

"Hey!" He called to her. "Chloe, stop!"

[chloeas]

"Crap," she whispered, her eyes widening as he called her name, she'd definitely been caught. But she didn't stop, she could just deny this later if he did bring it up.

He couldn't let her get away. She'd seen too much. And who knew what she would tell people about his family. A spike of fear ran through him and fueled him to run just a little faster to catch her. If she thought she could get away with spying like that, she had another thing coming.

Chloe glanced over her shoulder and she could see he was still coming after her, she was running out of breath, but she didn't stop, just made a mental note to actually attend PE classes in the future.

Dean wrapped an arm around his middle as he found it increasingly harder to draw in a breath. He continued to push through it, though. For the sake of his family secret. "Chloe," he tried again, his voice was a little weaker than the first time he'd called her. God, he shouldn't be this out of breath. He practically ran for a living, chasing after Chloe should be nothing.

When she heard his voice and the fact that he sounded tired too, she glanced over her shoulder but kept running, if she could at least tire him out, she could make it to the other side of the field where her car was.

Dammit, she needed to stop. He couldn't keep this up for much longer. And when he stumbled the first time, that was the first time he'd registered the pain in his side. He grunted and chalked it up to running so fast. That's when his vision started blinking out. "Son of a bitch," he panted, stumbling again, catching himself with his free arm. "Chloe, stop!"

That time, she did actually stopped and turned, her eyes widening when she saw him on the ground. She didn't even consider making her escape then because she had the feeling something was wrong.

So instead of running forward, she ran back to where he was, "are you okay?"

"Just...peachy," he looked up at her her, breathing hard. "The hell are you...doing here?"

"Nevermind that," Chloe said, turning on the flash of her camera so she could get a better look at him, "you're bleeding."

[helluvahunter]

"Yeah that happens sometimes," he growled, ignoring the suddenly bright light. "I asked you a question."

[chloeas]

Chloe sighed and turned off the flash, "c'mon, my car is right here," she told him, holding on to his arm, "I'll take you to the ER."

Dean pulled his are away. "No. Family can do it."

He continued to glare up at her. "Just tell me why you're here."

[chloeas]

She frowned at him and glanced over in the direction they had come from, "I thought you were in trouble," she admitted, "I overheard your conversation with-- your dad?" She asked, uncertain, "and I thought it was something bad."

"Well we weren't. We took care of a problem." Dean grit his teeth against the pain in his side and pushing himself up, wobbling a little.
