Serena had been on the road with Dean, thanks to his mistake that led to the police oh his tail. But she had been missing Dino, so she found a way to come back home briefly. She saw him pacing and walked up behind him to take his hand in hers. That was enough to tell Dean that she was there for him, so she didn't say anything. Just waited to see if he would want to talk to her or not.

Dean sensed her before he saw her, but her hand connecting with his made him stop and turn to gaze at her. It takes him a moment, but he utters her name softly and pulls her into a tight hug. He's missed her more than he can voice. It wasn't just her leaving with her Dean, but they'd barely spoken in weeks. "I'm glad you're okay," he whispers.

Serena made a little surprised sound at suddenly being pulled into a tight hug. But she instinctively hugs him back just as tightly. "I'm fine. Are you okay?"

He licked his lips, nodding and pulling back. "Yeah. Just...happy to see you. D'you know when you'll...be back permanently?"

"I'm really happy to see you, too. Umm, I... don't know." For some reason, she was feeling guilty about this and looks down briefly. "We're just playing it by ear, I guess."

"Oh, that's...good, I guess," He tries to keep his voice level, but there's a hint of disappointment in it and he hates that it's there. "Ah, you guys stay safe."

"Hey..." She can hear the disappointment easily, but she won't say anything for his sake. Instead, she reaches up on her tippy toes to kiss his forehead. "I promise I'll try to come back as soon as I can and I'll keep in contact with you so you know I'm okay."

He swallows hard, nodding. "Yeah, that sounds good. I'll be lookin' forward to that...And your nephew misses you too."

"I miss him, too. And you. There's nothing more I want than for things to go back to normal."

"You and me both, Smurfette. But I guess that's just something that'll have to happen when it happens," he chuckles softly. "It'd probably be nice to have your wedding topside instead of sneaky and underground away from the cops."

"I will postpone the wedding before we do that. I want to be married to him more than anything, but there's no way I want to remember the day like that." She cringes and shakes her head at the thought.

He has to laugh at the look on her face. Putting an arm around her, he kissed the top of her head. "I know. No way you'd have your wedding like that."

"I've got to have some sort of standard. Even for a fugitive." She smiles up at him.

"Well would ya look at that, a fugitive with standards." Dean grins. "You're becoming a walking contradiction."

Serena raises her eyebrows at that. "I am?"

"Oh without a doubt." He grinned.
