Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Is this happening to everyone? Did we do something wrong? Is this just some really shitty prank?
[One moment he's in his forge with Iriel and Ryn and the next he's suddenly handcuffed between them with a key in his hand, which doesn't seem to work on any of these locks. Why is it that every

Because, seriously. What the fuck is this?]
This had better not end up going in a similar way as the last fucking time we thought they might be pranking us.

[And she's just going to keep tugging at the handcuff as if that's going to do anything while looking around in the shop.]
Riah, you got anything here that can at least break the chains?
[She already tried the key she'd found in her pocket. No luck for either set of cuffs.]
Reply
Oh please don't say that. You two might end up losing one but I'll be losing both.
[And then he really would be completely useless to everyone here.]
Well, I got a hammer but I'm not sure if bashing cold steel is going to work. Heating it up will only end up burning them into our wrists too.

[Ryn grimaces at Riah's response.]
Shit. At least if we could reattach heads, we can probably reattach hands, too?
[She'd tried her key as well, with no result. Because of course, it couldn't be that easy.]
Yeah, I'm really not liking an option that ends up with metal burning into our wrists.
[Sure, she could heal it, but it'd still suck. She'd rather go with breaking her thumb or something first.]

[Ryn's rage makes Iriel feel good. She's glad she's not the only one pissed off.]
If we can't get these off here and now then I want to arm up before something else happens.
[Because in this place, something just might go down and she doesn't want to be unprepared.]
My stuff is up in the stables.
Reply
[He's not going to elaborate on that at all.]
Might as well, just really hope none of us will have to fight like this.
[With both his hands cuffed he's feeling a bit exposed at the moment.]
There's got to be some reason we've got these keys though.

[Or at least, no burns and no losing hands for them. She'd prefer none for herself, either, but she's used to it. Well, maybe not the last one. She'd like to avoid that.]
And what a surprise, agreeing with you again. Also, slightly jealous that you came with something more useful than a fucking cellphone and a carton of cigarettes.
[Because damn, arming up sounds good. Though Riah does have a point, particularly since she's no longer much of a long range fighter.]
It'd be awkward, to say the least. And you're right. Unless they just really wanted to fuck with us by giving us false hope, they should unlock something.

Hey, you know I've got your back. Your hands may be tied but you've still got your feet and head. Just don't use them to step in front of any stray bullets, hm?
[And she's just gonna try to lead them out of there to get to the stables. Tug, tug.]
And Ryn, darling, don't be jealous. I've got enough to share. You trained with anything?
Reply
Oh don't worry, being a giant bullet catcher isn't high on my priorities.
[Zachariah follows after her. By now he's used to her dragging him pretty much anywhere.]
Yeah don't worry, Iriel's got plenty of toys that she can share. Guess I'll keep trying to figure out what to do with these keys.
Reply
If all else fails, at least you're handcuffed on one side to a reasonably decent human shield.
[Which probably makes more sense to those who know her abilities. She still forgets she's not in a place where most do.
She easily follows along after them - shiny toys are a good enticement.]
You might be my new favorite people ever. I'm a decent enough shot, but mostly trained with knives. And you want mine? All I've got is trying them on things we come across.
Reply
Getting a case of the warm fuzzies over here, and lucky for you then that I have a knife. I'll hand it over once we get my other things.
[She likes you, Ryn, but not enough to disarm herself before she's gotten the rest of her things.]

There's no such thing as a decent human shield.
[As long as Zachariah is standing he won't let them do anything that stupid, whether they like or not.
When Iriel hands him the key he pockets it for safekeeping.]
Why do I get the feeling that I'm going to be making a lot of armor for the two of you.
Reply
[Sorry, Riah, but she's used to being the one to take bullets.]
You're a fucking saint, lass.
[Not that she's entirely defenseless on her own, but she'd still feel a hell of a lot better with some form of weapon. She grins a bit as she hands her own key over to Zachariah. Seriously - favorite people.]
Armor'd be a hell of a good look.

What she liked more was Ryn calling her a saint. Saints were a very real thing in Halis, at least, to that percentage of the population that was religious. She'd been raised by a priestess, and as she was fairly spiritual herself, as saints were people of the very recent past as far as her beliefs went, Ryn had given her a compliment of the highest order.
Even if it was just said in passing, Iriel gave her a wide grin, then turned it to Zachariah with a mischievous quirk of her eyebrow.]
Hear that, Riah? She says I'm a fucking saint. You could be making armor for a saint. And her friend.
[Oh look, it's the stables. Awesome. Now to just...head up the stairs in a single file.]
Reply
She's never going to let that go. I hope you realize that.
[While Zachariah isn't a particularly religious man, he knows about the saints. In Halis you'd have to have your head buried in the sand not to, or really buy into Gerard's propaganda. As if Iriel's ego isn't already big enough.]
Saint or not, I'm just in the business of helping people.
[And it's much easier for him to help people with a hammer or wrench than it is at the end of a gun.]
Reply
That also doesn't mean she won't stand by it, though, or completely take credit for giving an awesome compliment. She grins at Zachariah, unapologetic.]
She deserves it for getting me a knife. Among other things.
[And Ryn's one step closer to getting that knife! Or quite a few steps, as the case may be. She shifts slightly, angling her arm to try and make it easier for the three of them to head up the stairs.]
