Round 5 [Audio]

Sep 06, 2011 15:24

So...anyone got something they need repaired?

[He's barely done anything since he got here and he's starting to go crazy. Right now he's sitting in the stables' loft juggling some of his tools.]

[Ignoring the fact that they're sharing the same stable, she's feeling kinda lazy, so he gets text.]

If you are as handy a builder as you are a repairman, I would not mind something pointy to play with.

[Wut.]

Um, excuse me?

[At least he's not sputtering like an idiot this time.]

[It's so cute though!]

I misspoke. If you are as handy a smith, I meant to say. I have no knives.

[You know THOSE, Riah. Filthy, throbbing knives!]

[You have no idea how relieved he is.]

Oh! Hmm, never really did much smithing but I can always give it a shot.

[And who knows when something like that will become useful.]

You would not mind? Excellent. I have never been one for very thick tools. They are good long, but better they be slender to work in hard to reach places. Yes?

[And he's just going to stare at that for a bit. She's doing this on purpose isn't she?]

I uh...I'll do my best to give you what you want then.

[If she's doing it on purpose, Riah is making it way, way too easy.]

My standards are high, but I think I keep an open mind. Should I describe what I need to you?

[He just wants to be nice!]

Yeah just tell me what you need and I'll see what I can do.

[And please go easy with the innuendo.]

Since you say you are not very experienced, I will go gently. Say if it is too much.

thin (like needle?)
hilt not too big, more than a handful is excess, smaller preferred
handleguard not necessary
a curving blade if you can?

And that is actually it, I think.

[He's just going to ignore that first part.]

Okay so make it thin with a small hilt and a curved edge. Handleguard is optional.

[Riah's making mental notes as well as wondering if there are any smithing books in the library. He can't help but notice this is no tool though. She's asking for a weapon. Guess he can't really blame her.]

[A weapon she doesn't really need, but it's always convenient to have an obvious weapon that will draw the foe's attention from the real threat. Her threat has fangs and the venom to pump through them.]

You are a very good listener.

One of my better qualities.

[And something that helped keep him alive for all those years.]

From what I hear, it is dwarfed by your vigor. But that is hearsay and not to be trusted, never you fear.

[Yes, Riah.

Your 'vigor'.]

Ah!

I do not think I was supposed to repeat that. As they say, oops.
