But oh gosh, I don't even know what to say about this ending fhegpq;dsgasgsdfh. So I'll just go through my thoughts on each line again because I can't contain myself.

And he’s missed they way he smells. Like cool mint and Old Spice, like commitment, like Jensen’s future.

Shmoop with foreshadowing!

Jared clears his throat, shifts in his seat and says, “Fine, I guess.”

“You guess?”

I can't even handle confrontation in real life, much less in fics, this is awful ):

Jared returns the smile, grips Jensen's hand a little tighter and answers, "Yeah, we."

CLUTCHING MY HEART.

He's like his own little piece of home.

This just tugs at my heartstrings so hard. Made for each other ugh.

I won't quote the sex scenes because let's face it, I'd just quote every single line because it was all perfect. I love how intense it was but still so close and romantic, in a way.

Slowly, and almost quietly, he stands up and heads for the door.

GET YOUR ASS BACK IN BED :'(!

The only thing Jensen could think is: He stayed.

Omg I thought the same and clutched my heart some more.

There's some things you just have to fight for.

Protective possessive loving Jensen is my favorite.

Like Chad had ripped out his lungs and his voice box.

I could just picture him sitting there like that and ugh Chad, fucking CHAD.

But his lips should be fuller and his hair a little longer. His teeth should be a little straighter, frame a little thicker, and eyes greener.

Beautifully written.

Chad's foot stops it from closing.

"He loves you, you know."

I take back my distaste for you, Chad. You just redeemed the fuck out of yourself.

Jensen nods, and it feels like the truth, it feels right when he answers, "I do. I love him a lot."

I love that he admitted it not just to himself but to Chad too.

"Promise you'll look after him."

This just hurts because he cares so much and wishes he could stay to take care of him himself ]:

"I want us to be us"

ME TOO.

That ending, what a sad but great ending. It sounds like Chad grew so much from all of this, but he's still learning to deal with it in his own way. Still holding on and watching over them, it's bittersweet. I hope he finds happiness on his own or with someone some day.

I now accept this as canon for what went down before SPN started and I'm okay with that.
