"Another suicide on 11 April 2013. Each day, one Singaporean takes his or her own life (an average about 350 Singaporeans committed suicide each year). Many reasons lead a person to end his or her own life in such a tragic way. Some suicidal individuals do send out signals of distress asking for help but many a times, such signals go undetected or unattended. Sometimes, they don't give any clue whatsoever that they are going to take their lives. It is important for us to be on a look out for signs of distress among our friends or loved ones (especially if there is a distinct change in their behaviour) and do something to help them go through the difficult period."

I saw this, and all I thought was, "Wow if things were different, I'd had become just another statistic earlier than expected."
