Character History:

Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing was born roughly around 1978 to Sir Arthur Hellsing and a very absent mother who is assumed to of died when she was very young. Integra does not know and has never asked what happened to her, though sometimes she wished she had. The girl grew up in a very male-dominated household, her main caretakers being Walter C. Dornez, the family butler and a retired Hellsing agent, and her father. As busy of a man as he was Arthur made time for his daughter whenever possible to teach her about what they did as well as spend time with her, instilling values in the girl that he knew were important. Dealing with such supernatural beings for so long he passed on his extensive knowledge to his daughter as she grew up, his main focus on the demons that she would one day face herself.

Arthur paid special attention in teaching Integra about vampires, making sure she understood just what the girl would one day be dealing with. One of his most repeated (and ironically enough, one of the last he gave to her.) lectures he gave her was on why vampires where feared. For the longest time she understood the facts and could repeat back their strengths and weaknesses perfectly, but it never quite sunk in until the few last times the subject was broached again. Vampires not only had powers of a mythical sort, but had so much raw physical power that they were considered to be invincible, and this she would experience firsthand quite quickly.

Integra’s father collapsed some time before her thirteenth birthday, and on his deathbed named her the new Head of Hellsing, asking his brother and Integra’s uncle Richard to help and support her before he passed away. Though the man agreed as his brother lay dying, not even a week after Arthur had passed away, three days to be exact, Richard Hellsing led a coup d'état consisting of himself and a few other men and attempted to kill Integra and take control of the Organization. Walter having mysteriously disappeared in the girl’s time of need, Integra had only her father’s words of warning to rely on. In the forgotten dungeon underneath the Hellsing Manor laid a weapon in which she could use during times of great need. Making her way to this dungeon through the ventilation system with Richard’s coalition hot on her trail, the girl found the dungeon and entered it, only finding what seemed to be a corpse inside.

Devastated, having expected a ‘Knight in shining armor,’ but adult enough to admit that things like that only existed in fairytales and fantasies, Integra could only pray that she would not be found by her uncle, which she was a few minutes later. He shot her in the arm and had full intention of torturing the girl to death, but the blood splattered on the dried corpse and revived it, revealing that that Hellsing’s secret weapon against fighting Vampires…Was a vampire of its own. It proceeded to kill Integra’s attackers in a horribly gory manner, though while not the first the girl had witnessed one that would be burned into her mind forever. Richard remained alive, albeit missing a hand, and watched as the vampire acknowledged Integra as his master, towering over her even as it kneeled. Infuriated the man attempted to shoot the girl once more, but the bullet was blocked by the vampire himself, protecting his master and declaring Richard’s blood smelled ‘too foul’ to be both his master and the leader of Hellsing.
