Diamonds glittered,
Stars sparkled bright
on the black velveteen sky
No sun to cover their glory
No moon to outshine them
No clouds to hide their twinkle
The land below was their opposite
Dark and dull and without light
The dark trees reached for them
The shadowy mountains climbed high
Everyone wanted to shine bright up in the sky
If only they had looked down to see
Well caught up in the impossible
The pond who's waters were oh so still
Reflecting the bright stars light
Whose beauty now more profound
When matched with the dark beauty of all around
