Weekend Update, with your Host: HelllllllsCoooooook!!!!!!!!
SOoooooooo... long time, no real post.
I did get to go out for the first time in a long time and rediscovered a long lost love: Smithwick's on tap.
Seriously good beer. And they have it on tap at all the best places... old chicagos, brendens, and saints... speaking of which, I herded up the cats and managed to get everyone down to saints for a trip to the skybar, which is only open on the 3rd Saturday of everymonth (wtf?!) and it was dead as dead could die.
So that sucked major balls. Fortunately, everyone was still riding the wave of playin' Rock Band(tm) at Mr. Pinks crib, which was like 100000000000000000000000000000 times more fun than it had any right to be.
So, we bopped from the Boondocks at Saints (nyuk) over to Brendens. It was cold as a witches teet to hoof it with no coat, but Brendans was seriously bangin, so that was fun. I have a love/hate relationship with that place... but Sat was mostly love, mostly of a Smithwick's persuasion. The guy DJ'in was slyly throwing in the occasional mashup and old-skool jam, which made it all the better. That place is a serious cougar prowling ground, tho, which is both entertaining and frightening.
Sunday we ... Jesus, I was gonna type what we did Sunday, but I really cannot remember! Oh, I fried a turkey for Scarries maternal grandparents family Christmas, which is generally a surreal experience... simply because her Mother has like 3 sisters, and 4 brothers, and there are umpteen dozen people there, and I only know like, 1/3 of them. Plus, they have it in this American Legion-type "gathering lodge" that's somewhere smackdab in the middle of nowhere, in between Waddy and Peytona (real places, mind you) Kentucky.
But, it was fun... Whilst I was in the kitchen carving my deliciously sacrificed turkey, her Grandmother turned to me and said "It's nice to be back here with someone who knows what they're doing..." So, obviously, I have her fooled, so that's something. She also told me "I could tell you stories on ALL of these jokers... maybe even Carrie.
I may end up taking her up on that offer one day :)
