Application Guidelines

You can find the character application here once you've taken a look at these guidelines. And read the rules, of course.

1. Character Age: No characters under high school age allowed. Characters under high school age in appearance but who are not human or are otherwise older than they appear will be considered on a case by case basis

2. Character Limit: Maximum number of characters allowed in play is 3, unless you are able to prove with your three characters that you are capable of playing more for an extended period of time, In which case you may request additional character slots from the mods.

3. Waiting time between applications: You may only submit one application per month. This is to give you time to make certain you can handle an extra character. You may not apply for the same character more than three times.

4. Language: We expect a full command of the English language in your application. Please do not write blatant misspellings which could easily be caught by a spell check, or frequent improper grammar. We understand that this is not an English class and do not expect perfection, but it must be relatively well-written and proofread. This command of the English language is expected to persist into roleplay as well.

5. Darkness: Keep in mind that this game is a very dark setting, and it will be impossible for your character to avoid it. No place is 100% safe, and threats are everywhere and everyone. When we review your application, we will be looking for your character's appropriateness to the premise, as well as your own ability to handle dark topics such as rape, murder, and other adult content in a mature manner.

6. Time Character is taken from: Please note that you MAY bring your character in from the point of death, but this is not necessary. Your character may come from any time at all. They could be in the middle of an epic battle against their arch-enemy, black out, and wake up in Hell's Gate. There is no restriction on this.

7. Reserved Characters: There is no reservation of characters.

8. Application E-mail: The subject of your application e-mail must read, "Application: [Character Name]" if applying for a character or "Application: NPC Mod" if applying for NPC mod. Failure to do so may result in your application being delayed or not being considered.

9. Non-human characters: If your character is not a traditional human (Alien, Monster, or otherwise), you will typically retain your original form at the discretion of the mods. If you make a character that is too unwieldy or by their form alone has too much of an advantage (i.e. playing a full-sized dragon, playing a being of pure thought, playing a monster that has super-nasty-claws-of-death, etc), you will be reduced to a humanoid form.
