I think there was always a lot of Sam under all those layers. But chances are the wardrobe people bought several of each shirt. I have 6 year old shirts, so it's not implausible.
I had to cross reference. I see that shirt as a red plaid.
Oh, wardrobe always has a tone of copies of each shirt - Jensen also has a version of each shirt with no sleeves so that he doesn't get so hot while filming. But Sam Winchester would just have the one shirt.
You aren't the first to disagree on colour. Some people say Dean's Red Plaid Shirt of Angst is Purple...others say a coat or shirt is blue when I call it black or vice-versa. Colour is a very subjective thing. It's a reddish brown or a browny-red. I tend to go with what colour it looks like in the daylight, and to me, when Sam was in the daylight, it looked brown.
lol Aw I like this shirt. It's the "Tall Tales" shirt for me haha. And I don't think it's so weird that it's still around. The boys have limited money so they have to keep clothes a lot longer then normal probably. Besides Jared/Sam's not as huge as he was in season 4 anymore. He'd fit back into it now.

Have you any data on which one shirt has been worn the most times for each of them?
