[Day 10] Cafeteria (Lunch)

Aug 14, 2009 07:25

Cloud had left the showers with the intention of sitting completely alone. He had had enough socializing for the day dealing with Yuuri's little possessive friend. He hadn't been that tired out arguing and ignoring someone yelling at him since he was having to deal with Barret in a argument over where Marlene should stay after they had finished up ( Read more... )

There had never been a warpath like the one that Wolfram was tearing through the halls. At first, he meant to pursue Cloud, his fists still clenched and his teeth gritted until they were surely grinding to sand. And then he had spotted Yuuri, and white hot rage burned ghostly streaks of red into his vision and he went stomping the other way.

It was probably lucky for all parties involved that, somewhere along the line, he was turned around and confused as to where he should go. Of course, he wasn't going to ask anyone for directions (as flowery and beautiful as he was, he was still a man, dammit), and instead ambled in what could be considered a pointless stalk -- stomping this way and slamming that way.

The conversation with Armand had left him in a foul state as it was, but sighting what had occurred to Cloud throughout the cleaning period had only made his mood worse. There had been more than enough desire for him to have moved over to remove the parasite, but Sephiroth had decided to bide his time ( ... )

If Wolfram had ever wondered what the embodiment of death and torture must have sounded like, he knew then. Of course, before today he would have assumed that it sounded more like Anissina, but this was pretty close regardless. Wolfram's hand immediately skirted to where his sword ought to be (but was not), and with his fingers still tapping at his side he turned to meet the mako-green eyes of his pursuer.

Touch what was his? "I don't know what you're talking about," the blond spat, only a key more polite to this one than the rest of them. There was something unsettling and yet familiar about the way this one carried himself, as if he was born and bred for war, nurtured by it as most were by milk and mothers. Still, Wolfram wasn't about to go scraping or anything to that effect. "I can't imagine how," he began, turning to leave again, "but you've gotten the wrong person."

He'd sighted the gesture down tot he blonde's side, and knew it for what it was. Obviously this fool thought himself to be some pathetic swordsman, but the ex-General knew without a doubt that such a thing would be a waste of his time.

Sephiroth felt his eyes narrow at the rough words thrown in his direction, but his expression hardly shifted outside of that. He had dealt with far worse than this parasite could dish out at him, but even despite this, Sephiroth would hardly stand by while his authority was being challenged in such a way.

His left hand snapped out to grasp tightly at the retreating blonde's wrist. There had been a desire to do far worse than that, but he had made a promise, and it was one he would attempt to keep, "Oh I hardly think I've got the wrong person," There wasn't anything comforting in the chuckle he sounded, and after leaning his face in closer, Sephiroth smoothly said, "I did, after all, see that mark you left on my companion's face."

Wolfram's eyes narrowed, expressing the confusion and momentary anxiety that the rest of his stormy visage could not. It passed with a twist of his mouth, the corners of his lips twitching as if he was trying to hold back a terrible wrath.

He wasn't, of course.

"Then perhaps," he snapped, and though he wasn't sure what to make of the ghostly spectre of a man in front of him, his tone was laced with venomous contempt, "you ought to keep better watch of him! Unless letting a pet drool over what isn't his is tradition in this place?" Wolfram's wrist twitched in Sephiroth's hand, feeling for the kink in his fingers, a way that he could break free from the hold.

Sephiroth's soft chuckle as he felt the deep rooted desire to strike at this one. He didn't release his grasp, but he did feel the twitch to wrap his other hand around this one's slender throat. Oh the pleasure he would receive from strangling every last breath from this one.

"I hardly need to concern myself in what he desires throughout the day," He tugged harshly on the wrist in his grasp despite the pain from his injury. Bringing up his right hand to grasp at this parasite's chin, Sephiroth's gaze promised death as he gave one single warning, "Touch him again, and I will show you what true fear is about."

Wolfram tugged back on his wrist, not enough to break his own bones, but enough to test the ex-general's grasp. He was flinching away from Sephiroth's other hold and growling all the while, his eyes flashing with raw, unmitigated anger.

"Unhand me," he snarled, like a cornered tiger rearing its claws. There was a moment of time in which he told himself that he had nothing to be afraid of from Sephiroth, but he hated the hold that he had on Wolfram's wrists. Such things could be broken, but he was worried about who would act faster. "I said let me go!" he screamed, feral, though he didn't make an effort to pull away yet.

His grip didn't relent, even if he could feel the eyes of the guards on his back, as this parasite snarled at him. Acting automatically, his right hand snapped down to wrap tightly around the slender neck - forcing the blonde into an undesired silence, as he growled, "If you ever go near him again, I will personally remove every organ within that pitiful body of yours,"

Sephiroth would take great pleasure in watching the life slip out of this one's eyes, but he forced himself to release his hold. Pushing to shove the blonde fool away from him, the ex-General growl, "I will not warn you again."

Wolfram stumbled backwards a step and a half. To be fair, Cloud was forgotten entirely. Instead, Wolfram's sparkling green gaze met Sephiroth's in a terrible enemy stare, silent, angry. It was lucky for him that training took over where reason and logic could not, forcing him into a subdued haze.

Wolfram knew that he was ill-equipped to deal with the situation here, but he promised himself that it would not be that way forever. Rather than fight now, he had to watch this one, make sure that he didn't attempt anything similar with Yuuri.

Yuuri -- and a knot formed in the pit of his stomach, the sort that was best unraveled with screaming and violence. Even striking Cloud earlier hadn't quite lessened the anguish that he'd felt at seeing Yuuri skirt off with another girl, all happy embraces. Not that it was important in this situation; Wolfram continued to try to hold Sephiroth's glare, finally speaking, willing himself not to press his fingers to his throat or gasp too much of the blessed air that he had missed ( ... )

Sephiroth remained towering over the parasite's form as the blonde thought over the situation. He was more than prepared to sacrifice the state of his health if it got his dominance asserted with this one. While Cloud wouldn't have been pleased, Sephiroth cared little when his territory was threatened.

Yet when the threat was returned in his direction, a slender brow rose up as he tilted his head back ever-so-subtly, "The presence of parasites holds no interest me," Sephiroth smoothly spoke before glancing away from the blonde dismissively. He had said what needed to have been said, and there was little point in remaining if this one was going to cease encroaching on his territory.

"So long as we're clear!" Wolfram had his bearings again, but they were hastily gathered and still messily arranged. Breaking the stare between them helped to assist him in gathering up the nerve to continue on with his train of thought, his feet apart and his hands at the ready. Wolfram apparently wouldn't let his guard down again.

"But if you're the biggest thing around here . . ." Wolfram studied the man's posture, his hands, even the arch of his neck. His intentions trailed there, as assured as he was that they were well-communicated between the two of them. Wolfram, for all of his squalling, wasn't really one for words and tactical conversation.

There was little care given to the words spoken to him, and Sephiroth had already begun pulling himself away. He'd said what needed to be said, and the ex-General saw no point in remaining. His leave, however, was halted at the trailed off words.

Cat-like eyes slid back to regard the parasite as he quietly assessed what had been spoken, "Oh?" Turning his attention back onto the blonde, he felt a dark chuckle bubbling up as a slender brow rose up questionable, "But what?"

Arrogance flashed in his eyes, but his temperament remained, for once, cool and steady. This was something that he knew how to deal with, an exchange that he knew how to respond to. "There isn't any point to it now!" Wolfram proclaimed, more spit than substance. He went bumping back against the wall that caught him on the rebound from Sephiroth's grasp, fingers drumming against the surface. It was very obviously just a kick-off point, something to brace himself against in case Sephiroth made a pass at him again.

"It goes without saying that for now we ought to refrain, as we both have something to protect," Wolfram began, trying not to let his eyes trail to Yuuri. "But when the time comes, you'll be the one in need of protecting." Wolfram's stare was hard, as if he was trying to see through the man.

It was easy for him to see the arrogance in this one, but Sephiroth did nothing but huff softly beneath his breath. This parasite was no threat to him. Back in his time during ShinRa, he had dealt with tempers far worse than this one, and he had done so swiftly. There was a temptation to do just that, to put this insect in his place, but as he glanced over towards the guards, Sephiroth thought better of it.

He had made that promise, after all.

"You would do well to follow your own advice," Sephiroth warned before his attention slid back over to regard the blonde. He stood there quietly for a moment before the darkness seemed to slip back into his voice, "Pray that we do not meet at night."

There would be no hesitation in killing this parasite.

Wolfram's lip curled. Though Sephiroth showed no sign of attacking yet, his hands were still concealed between him and the wall, balled up into fists just in case. Something about the man made Wolfram's skin crawl, a feeling that he wasn't quite used to when his own home was filled with flying skeletons and moaning ghost swords.

"Sorry to disappoint," he sniffed, turning his face away from the silver-haired man. "When the time comes, I hope that we do." Wolfram wasn't exactly comfortable fighting without a sword, but he'd never lost a fistfight that he could remember and there were ways around it. He hoped, anyway. The fact of the matter was that Wolfram wouldn't be able to rest until he and Sephiroth went out in a proper excursion. Something about it just made much more sense to him, and he didn't show any shame or fear for it.

No problemo bb~~<3 And I'm sorry! Sephiroth says he's had enough D: clinically_nuts August 15 2009, 03:04:01 UTC
Sephiroth simply stared at the blonde waste of space as he dared to threaten him. It was a foolish attempt on anyone's part, and if he did happen to come across this one during night, he would take great pleasure carving out this parasite's flesh.

Until then, though, he wouldn't waste his breath on someone so beneath his notice. Besides, he had far more important things to worry over than this insect.

Pulling away, Sephiroth began moving deeper into the cafeteria.
