Being dragged through the facility had only helped to completely disorient him further, and the drugs that had been injected into him effectively capped any of his other senses. However, he eventually found himself dumped on the hard packed ground, not even the sensation of rocks digging into his bare arms causing much of a reaction.
And then he was abandoned there in the middle of the hedge maze.
Blinded, he simply lay still for a few moments in a vain attempt to find some sort of barring. He was completely defenseless and helpless, unable to even protect himself. That very thought through his muddled brain caused a sickening panic to rise in his chest. He had no weapon and no idea where he had been placed, only the rustle of what sounded like leaves in the breeze. It was the worst feeling in the world, yet he couldn't escape it.
H...elp... he sluggishly called mentally, hoping that some connection could be made. He felt nothing but the pain in his damaged eyes. ...h...elp... Sephi...roth...
Eventually, Cloud began to move his hands. His fingers moved across the hard packed ground, trying to identify the bleak surrounding by feel alone. He knew that the grounds were huge, and he hadn't explored it all. There were a few places with trees and other foliage. He could be anywhere... he could even be outside of the walls, abandoned to whatever laughing fate that the doctors could think up. They were probably all having a good chuckle at him.
Patting the ground, he forced himself up to his knees and began to crawl like some drunken disoriented idiot around. He fell over twice before finally reaching plant material, touching them with his hands yet unable to identify it. His fingers tip-toed up the hedge, hoping to find a top or anything that might tell him where he currently was. All he felt was foliage... up and up, it was beyond his pitiful reach.
