[Day 14] Coward's Wing Showers

Jan 24, 2010 08:17

Tassadar had found it difficult to move his large form out of bed. The thin mattress had creaked beneath his movements, and without a second thought, the Protoss warrior began making his way towards the showers. His body ached from the canine bites, but he'd experienced far worse at the hands of the Zerg ( Read more... )

[From here

"Hey wait, a-aren't we going the wrong way? I-I thought the women's showers were over there! No wait, this is the men's, isn't it? I-I-I can't go in there! People will stare a-and it'll be indecent a-a-and&mdash!" Sae shut her mouth when her escorting guard shot her a look that could have killed her from a hundred feet away if looks worked that way. Eeeeeeee . . .

Still trembling all over, she let him lead her into the men's showers, shrinking into the furthest corner she could find to change out of her yellow jumpsuit and slip a towel around her naked form. She could feel the leering eyes all around. Her face turned deep red, and she looked down at her own body shamefully. Sometimes she wished she had been born male. Then maybe she wouldn't have been as awkward. Or weak. Or vulnerable. Ultimately, she was grateful to be who she was, but right now, in a room full of mostly imposing men and not many women, she felt beyond exposed.

By some miracle, she managed to make it over to one of the far showerheads without attracting any trouble. She kept the towel around herself even as she turned the shower spray on, not caring that the thing got soaking wet and cold around her. There was no way she was going to let it drop in a room like this. Next to her was a younger man, closer to her and Yuuri in age, and clearly not Japanese. For the moment, she didn't say anything to him, more focused on getting herself washed quickly so that this embarrassment could be over with.

11-12 glanced at her nervously. He didn't look at all imposing and did in fact look very lost and scared. He blushed slightly at seeing a girl near to him - even with a towel - but he didn't stare and pointedly looked away, also trying to concentrate on washing himself quickly.

Sae caught the blush out of the corner of her eye. This one didn't seem to be a lech like some of the burlier prisoners, at least. The look on his face looked similar to ones she had seen on Takakura when he was embarrassed, even. Maybe he was like more like Shibuya and herself, then? A nice guy who had been drawn away from his home without deserving it? She thought that she had met most of those types already. Maybe he was new?

"E-excuse me, I don't think I've seen you before," Sae said hesitantly as she washed her hair. "How long have you been here?"

His eyes turned to her nervously. "I arrived here yesterday," he said very quietly. He was awkwardly trying to cover himself up a bit more as he used his soap on his skin. "What about you?"

Sae looked away from the young man as he washed himself, her face turning red again. It looked like he was about as uncomfortable with her looking at him naked as she was about the opposite. She didn't blame him at all. This was just a very, very, very, very awkward situation for young people to be in, prison or not.

"I'm actually not sure anymore," Sae answered softly, looking down. "I know I've been here for at least three or four days, but I think I've been asleep for a while now. I don't know how long that was for." She chewed her lip a bit. "Still a lot longer than anyone should have to be here for."

11-12 was awkward for the situation indeed. He'd felt even more awkward about this yesterday but Tassadar had been reassuring to him then. Being gay, it wasn't that he found the girl attractive that was making him blush, just the fact of them having to shower together - or shower with anyone else around. He still wasn't used to that part.

"I didn't see you around yesterday," he commented. Not that he'd seen that many people or had been noticing anyone in particular. He just wasn't sure what else to say right now.

Well that was one clue, at least. Either she'd been asleep for at least a day now, or Whoever-This-Was was really unobservant. Erk. She really needed a better name for him that Whoever-This-Was.

"I should introduce myself, then, I guess," said Sae with a strained smile. "My name's Sae Sawanoguchi. What's yours?"

"I'm 11-12," he replied. He pronounced it Eleven-Twelve. "Um, nice to meet you... Just wish it was in a nicer place," he gave her a strained smile then stepped out of the water. He found a towel and started drying himself off.

Hearing the message to move on, 11-12 quickly got dressed in his orange jumpsuit and gave her a symapathetic look. "Guess I'll see you around then."

He started toward the cafeteria.
