[Night 12] Central Tower

Nov 06, 2009 16:21

[Moving in from here]The tower was quiet as he entered. What few prisoners were mulling around didn't seem to take any notice of Sephiroth as he crossed the short distance between the two wings. Ignoring all those around him, Sephiroth slipped into the Traitor's wing area. He could sense that Cloud was just ahead, and he wanted nothing more than to ( Read more... )

[from here]

The moonlight always made this area look harsh and uninviting. Some people milled about while others hurried with purpose. Armand, having had no specific word from Yuuri, hesitated to enter his wing until he'd waited a little bit. So, to warm and stretch his legs, Armand wound carefully through the isolation pits, keeping a wary eye on the door to the Traitor's wing. He'd wait a bit, and if Yuuri didn't appear, go find him.

Yuuri pushed the door open to the Central Tower before he forced himself out. He probably should have waited a few more minutes before moving, but he didn't want to keep his friend waiting. Glancing over to the Pervert's Wing, he didn't catch sight of Armand.

The lack of sight cased a small pit of worry to well up within, and he wondered if anything happened while he was delayed. Fear clenched at his heart at the thought before he thought he caught sight of someone familiar.

Narrowing his eyes to help clear his vision, Yuuri smiled brightly when he caught sight of his friend. "Armand!" He called out.

Armand's face brightened when he heard, then saw Yuuri. He trotted that way, though some of his gladness faded when he saw the youth was already tired out. "Who did you have to heal today?" he asked, more blunt than usual, but he thought his worry might excuse him. They'd just have to linger a few moments to let Yuuri rest. That's all there was for it.

There was definitely a sense of relief seeing that washed all throughout his body when he saw that Armand was fine. He'd been worried that his actions might have put his friend in a bad situation, but he was glad that wasn't the case.

"Aah," A hand automatically went up to rub at the back of his head sheepishly, "Cloud asked if I could heal some of Sephiroth's wounds for him." The young Maou admitted before he felt a shiver run up his spine at the memory of the other male.

That didn't encourage Armand's frown to go away. "We can rest a little if you need it," he offered. He could keep watch to ward others away, he was sure. "I hope Sephiroth wasn't nasty to you." He knew very well how rude and arrogant the silver-haired man could be.

When the frown remained, Yuuri smiled disarmingly, "I'm fine. Cloud made me rest for a little bit." Sure he was still meant to be resting, but he'd been too worried about Armand to sit still.

Yuuri inwardly grimaced as he remembered the other male. "Aaah yeah, he wasn't too bad." The smile on his face was a little strained, but Yuuri laughed it off as he said, "He was just a little creepy."

"I don't think he can help that part," he answered readily enough. Yuuri's good cheer in the face of almost all things was hard to ignore. "Do you feel up to searching a few hidey holes?" he asked. He'd just as happily just watch over his friend, but he knew lingering out in the open wasn't the best idea. Armand pointed vaguely toward the chapel, but he could take them to the library as well. "I think I now know of four of them, although getting through the locks into the kitchen is probably beyond us."

Yuuri couldn't help but laugh softly at Armand's answer. That was probably right, and for some strange moment, the young Maou was subtly reminded of Gwendal.

Shaking his head at the thought, Yuuri's smile brightened at the thought of continuing their search, "Of course!" He was definitely up for it regardless of how tired he felt. Besides, he didn't want to let his friend down either.

Rubbing at his chin in thought, Yuuri thoughtfully murmured, "One in the kitchen, two in the Chapel..." His voice trailed off as he found himself at a loss as to where the last hidden place was.

Armand blinked. "Oh, that's right. I didn't get a chance to tell you. One of the days before Alice disappeared I saw her looking at a particular book in the library. When I looked at it, it was hollowed out, like the one we'd found, but there was nothing in it." He shrugged, a little embarrassed at himself for not having realized how significant that was before last night.

He held out a hand for Yuuri. "Where should we start?" He still shied away from attempting to take a leadership role.

He had no idea just who this Alice was, but the thought that there might be more hidden areas in the library caused excitement to bubble up within. They had to go and investigate! What if they found themselves a key or something?

"We should go to the library!" Yuuri announced, all traces of his previous exhaustion being pushed aside at this new information. Reaching out to instantly take Armand's offered hand, Yuuri gripped it tightly as he began to jog over towards the door leading to the outside.
