Happy I am that town have power again, I make sad discovery that town has no internet. Not even without wires or the 4H! Must have to settle for intranet, which seeming be how computers are connection. But makes hard because now I have no way to do the research. Above all since library seem to be closed. Is there even town corridor? The GPS ( Read more... )

If you don't mind my asking, what's your first language?

Ah, Russian?

Sorry I can't actually type using the proper Russian alphabet but I'm not entirely sure if this computer supports it. Hopefully this will suffice? I'm afraid I don't know much about what you've mentioned above, since I've only been here since yesterday, but I thought it might be nice for you to be able to use your native tongue.

[Sorry, were you expecting his language to be more normal?]

How glorious that I've found someone that can sort of type in my mother tongue! Though I have been speaking in English for weeks now, I still missed the way it sounds--and looks! Do you happen to speak Russian as well??

As for the town: I am new to it myself, friend. I wished to learn more about it, but with everyone holed up into their houses like little mice in mouse-holes, I haven't learned much. Hopefully now that it is warming up, I can meet more people! I wish to make the most of my experience here.

Yes, I can speak it.

You have a very good attitude about this place. How long have you been here?

That's great to hear! I'm Gavril Ivanovich, friend. Who are you?

I don't see the point in running around scared, especially since I now represent the Justice League! I try to make the most of any situation him in... Isn't that the best one can hope for? Besides, one must lead by example!

I've only been here a few days, but I've learned much through the other residents in town.

[Aziraphale scowled at the computer screen as the inevitable happened: he was asked his name. He'd have to go back to his (very uncreative) old pseudonyms for a while, it seemed.]

Nice to meet you, Mr. Ivanovich. You may call me Mr. Fell.

You are quite right about leading by example. It's so easy for people to lose their heads in situations like this one; we need more like you. What is this Justice League, exactly? Is it some sort of club?

Also, have you learned anything of great importance from the others? I'm still in the dark about the whole thing, really. This place is unsettling, though. I'd like to find out as much about it and its history as I can.

Please, call me Gavril. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Fell.

Yes, well, I've seen it before back in my Rocket Red days. I had to keep those boys in line somehow! And how do you not know the Justice League? They're heroes!

Not too much; they've mainly been concerned with the snow. I have learned that all of the businesses are closed, and that strange things have occurred here in the past. Beyond that, nothing. Though I do hope to rectify that shortly!

Heroes? I'm afraid I've never heard of such a group before. Where is it stationed? Is it government-run or a group of vigilantes?

Hm. I've heard that everyone shared the same dream recently. Did you experience that?

I do hope the snow melts quickly and doesn't cause much flooding. And that the weather will remain agreeable afterwards. I have quite a bit of investigating I'd like to do. I wonder if there is a library or town hall, or something similar, where one might find public records.

How have never heard of the Justice League??? They've only saved the world congress times over, like any true hero! And they operate under the united states now, but they used to work for the United Nations for a time, and it was called the Justice League International! It was the best of the many incarnations of the Justice League.

Unfortunately I arrived the day after that happened. Which is rather unfortunate, as I would like to have experienced it.

I too wish to venture to the library! Perhaps when it reopens we can journey their together and see what mysteries it holds! My English is a little rusty anyhow and having a native speaker would be a great help.

I don't know. Perhaps they're not very well-known in England?

[Aziraphale left it at that, because he was almost totally sure that this man was suffering from delusions of grandeur of some kind. Really, a league of heroes working with the UN? Absurd.]

Yes, you may accompany me to the library, if you wish. I may be too distracted by my research to help you much with your english, but I'll do what I can.

Perhaps...

That's quite all right. Two heads are much better than one, after all.
