[The dream bothered her in the way it ended so quickly. Suddenly she was wide awake, in the darkness of her home, in the hollow quiet of the cold, cold air. Red eyes lingered, stared at her.]
[She put a hand to her head. Too cold. Too little food left, and she was exhausted from putting down the storm she started. For a moment she wondered what it would be like to die of starvation.]
[But she knew it wouldn't happen to her. To other people, maybe, and that's what really scared her. She picked up her phone, and broadcasted to the whole town.] How is everyone? Do you have enough food? Enough warmth?
[Her voice was so tired it was almost flat, emotionless.] We have to help each other. [That dream. She was scared that no one would respond, that while she was asleep and hunkered in the safety of her home, the world around her disappeared. Would she even know?]
