I know with the snow piling up around us, you're all getting a little bored and anxious. I don't blame you, I'm not used to this much snow, either. I figured maybe we could all get to know each other better. Maybe tell a thing or two about ourselves.
It doesn't have to be anything personal. Even if it's just your name, it makes people trust each other a little more. I can go first:
My name is Harry Mason, a lot of you know me. My daughter is Heather Mason, she landed in town about a day ago. Before I came here, I was an author with a range of genres under my belt. I wasn't extremely successful, but I did alright. That's pretty much it, I guess.
