[Sometime after dawn, a phone call is placed to everyone. A young male voice, irritated and somewhat exhausted, comes over the line, and the sound of him fiddling with things he's come across in his empty house can be heard in the background.]I know I was tired when I got on the train last night, but I don't remember taking one to some creepy Long

Perfect.
Did everyone here has randomly rolled into town on the midnight train from Manhattan? Do we at least have that in common? Because if that's the case I'll go back to using the bus.

I went to sleep in a park, and then woke up here.

So. Don't know how we got here, or where here is. Do we know why?

No. We just are. There seems like there must be someone behind this, because we have these phones and are assigned homes but whoever they are they've never really said anything.

But whoever they are they don't say anything, and I don't anyone knows who they are. They're like a ghost. . . maybe they are ghosts. We do have-have zombies. [Her voice gets a little strange when she says zombies. She still feels bad about what they had to do to Steve.]

I'm liking the sound of these zombies less and less. And I didn't like it to begin with.

Well they aren't here now so you shouldn't have to worry about them. And the fog is gone too.
[The half finished scarf is staring at her almost accusingly now. She hasn't even been able to touch her knitting needles since that day.]

Fog? Is that where they came from?
Reply
No, the zombies were here before that. They were cleaning the houses.
Other monsters came out of the fog.

Are any sort of defenses enacted for when the fog comes in? Is it frequent? Don't tell me people of this town just sit around and wait for monsters to roll in and eat them. I don't want to be here too long, but I don't want to put up with attacks, either.
[This line of interrogation could just go on forever.]
