Day 64 - Phone - All
I... I know n-not everyone here is... is Christian. But I... I thought that for some... This-- This trying time might... might warrant... a bit of faith.
I... I h-hope one can... ignore this? if it is not to one's liking...
[A small pause and a shuffling of some papers.
The recitation itself is even, calm, but very quiet. Were it not for the phones, the voice would never carry. Certainly not meant for public speaking.]
"Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until calamtities be overpast.
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth for me.
He shall send from Heaven, and save me the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth."
Ps-Psalms, chapter fifty-seven, verses one through three.
One... One only needs t-to have faith... God does not abandon us, merely... merely tries our spirits and our faith. H-He protects us, and He... calls home those whom he cannot protect.
C-Christ a-addresses a crowd in... in John, chapter ten, verses twenty-seven th-through thirty.
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave me, is greater than all; and none is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my Father are one."
Christ... Christ will protect. One-- One only needs to have faith and follow His teachings. Th-then... Even... Even if one should die in this world...
There is life everlasting waiting in the next.
[He pauses for some time before he recites again.]
"Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdome come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever.
Amen."
