(She's quiet for a moment.)

I don't understand how fog is able to do something like this...

It's this place... There's something wrong with it.

(A quiet pause.)

If you try not to think about it... Sometimes that helps. (At least, it helped her.)

(Guess what? Another pause. She knows what he means all too well- it even sounds like they might be in similar positions. Maybe he's suffered the same kind of loss she has; maybe he even lost his family like she has. And maybe-)

Is it... Is it a bad thing when it's still numb?

[Oh. Strangely enough, Ethan didn't often come across people who actually sounded like they might get what he's been going through.]
