Day 57 | Call for everyone!

[Very late at night, just shy of midnight, and Snake is wide awake, unfortunately. Bad dreams can do that to a man, and hearing a friendly voice without having to wake up his possibly-grumpy house-owning roommates seems fun.]

So, who's awake at this late an hour?

[Sleeping for long periods has been uncomfortable for him post-resurrection. Moreso than usual, anyway..]

Is there something the matter?

No, sir, I was merely indulging a curiosity. I've not been up this late in years and wondered how many people stayed up into the wee hours.

I see. My sleeping schedule is...flexible.

[Translation: good luck catching him with his eyes shut.]

Ah, really? I've known some people like that, the kind that divide up their sleeping time throughout the day. I've thought of trying it once or twice, but I love the rested feeling of a solid eight hours too much.

Sometimes it's more convenient than the straight eight hours, but it isn't for everyone.

Well, so long as you're healthy and alert, I can't see anything wrong with it! It must make for an over-all more greater consciousness of the town in general.

Mm. I've been keeping track of most of the events here for some time now.

A vigilant watchman, then? I think the town could certainly use a few of those.

Indeed. It'll be a better way to spend my time.

Out of sheer morbid curiosity, what would occupy it other than sleeping or being a guardian angel?

Reading, mostly. And my own investigation of the town.

[Translation: reading everybody's blog posts and listening in on all of your calls.]

Worthy pastimes. Is the book selection in town to your liking?

I would've preferred a bit more variety in Eastern literature, but otherwise, it's decent. I suspect that many of the books were damaged during the floods.

Very unfortunate, that flooding. I'd managed to save what few books I had out at the time, but if the library took a direct hit, we may be sorely lacking in literature for the duration of our stay.

Certainly a shame. We might've lost our source of information on the town that way, too.

At this point, I'd be unwilling to say that it's simply coincidence that this much information was lost. This town seems actively malevolent towards us.
