[Byakuya is on his porch, wearing the same expression he tends to wear in public.  Only this time there's a hint of annoyance, his brow creased just a little bit.  He then holds up a kitten by the scruff of its neck, making it visible.  Once the cat is seen, it lets out a squeak of a meow, which makes Byakuya flick his eyes toward it for a moment.]

Ain't like it's mine. Maybe you found that damn cat from the other day...you know, the one that wouldn't shut up.

This one is much quieter.

That's good. [Leaving it ambiguous to if he means that the other cat shut up, this cat is quieter, or annoying Byakuya the guy in general is good.]

So. You know what you're going to do with... [Slight pause.] ...him if nobody claims him?

[He sets the kitten down while this guy is talking.]

I suppose I will offer it to whoever wants it.

What, you're not gonna keep him?

[Unseen to this person, the kitten starts rubbing up against Byakuya's leg.]

Cats are...difficult.

Yeah, exactly. Man, I mean, he'll probably end up sneaking back into your house or somethin'. Never had pets myself but I heard stories.
