[The call begins, and the camera is set a little distance away from him - he's seated in what's left of his waterlogged house, hands folded over a notepad in his lap. He's slouching, as usual, in his chair - and as usual, when he speaks, it's in a very soft monotone.]
Hello.
I'm noticing a pattern in the calls I'm getting today. A lot of you seem to know who Grape Man is. Some of you seem frightened. Others are angry. And some of you, like me, have absolutely no idea what is going on.
[He picks up his pen, tapping it against his notepad idly.]
I'm just trying to get my facts straight. If any of you can tell me anything about this guy, I'd appreciate it. There's not much I can do about any of this. From what I've got so far, I'd be stupid to go down there. But I can't just sit here, either. I don't even have a telenovela to watch. And I've done my Rubik's cube approximately one hundred eighteen and a half times.
[He fixes his icy gaze on the camera, strangely intense as he leans forward a little in the swollen wooden kitchen chair.]
I just want to know.
