He had only meant to step outside for some groceries. Just a little walk. It was foggy, but it wasn't that bad -
Then he saw it. A twisting, lurching, bleeding figure, darting just out of the corners of his eye. It had scared him deeply...and after just barely coming to grips with the idea that the house would not collapse on top of him, he had broken down a bit. He had said very little, remained largely in his room or working on the new Chair....
...But finally, finally he was calming down. He looked awful - pale, drawn, haunted...but at least he was coming down the stairs. As he walked out into the living room, he noticed Tim pacing...and stopped where he stood, frowning.
"...Tim? What's the matter?" His voice was hoarse. He cringed at the sound of it.

"I got caught. No .. Tigger got caught." He raked his hands through his hair and rubbed his temples. His head was throbbing with a dull ache, like something in his head had twisted and snapped back. He couldn't even leave to get himself some aspirin. He had his bottle of unlabelled pills up in his room, but he wasn't about to take those unless he was practically dying.

"Caught?"
Uneasy about the pacing, Tom passed Tim by, taking a seat on the couch and watching him with concern. "Caught him doing what, exactly?"

But then again, it was entirely plausible he had been caught stabbing someone. "Someone caught him, tied him up, and pulled the mask off. Which is why I feel like my head is going to explode." He wouldn't be surprised if his head actually did explode, the way it was pounding. "Left a note on me for people to find."

He...really wasn't sure what to think of all this. Tim had been found out. What did this all mean? Really, what it came down to....
"...What...did the note say?"
He had said it a few times. Tim and he were in this boat together. He felt more than a little guilty that Tim had been caught, likely while he was...out of it - but now he would do whatever he could to help. But first? All the facts.

"And this girl found me and called everyone looking for the police. And then another guy came and they decided to put me under house arrest. Since they didn't know what exactly I had done." He grinned ruefully. "Pretty sure they didn't believe me when I said I didn't know either."

"I know what that's like," he sighed, shaking his head a little.
"Where are they? Outside?"

"Any idea what this could be?" He pulled his pantleg up, revealing a thin burn like injury that encircled his entire ankle.

"...I'm not sure. Some sort of conductive wire, maybe? Or heated? I'm not sure what he could have been doing, but...." He paused - that's right, he hadn't gotten to talk to Tim about this yet.
"I got to speak to him. Briefly, the other day, in the S-Mart. He seemed a bit reckless, banging on the door when I spotted him. He could have climbed something and tripped?"

"I don't know what he could have gotten caught on that went all the way around his leg." But he hadn't fully explored the town. It wouldn't surprise him if whoever tied him up had just found his masked counterpart stuck in something and just dragged him down and tied him up.

"...He didn't say much. Short sentences, didn't seem very good at English...sounded sort of...grainy. Like static. Ah...seemed confused when I met him. Curious. He was stuck in the S-Mart at the time, the doors wouldn't let him out."
Shrugging a little, he considered the wound further.
"There's also the possibility that someone lassoed him somehow, but...with a conductive wire? I'm not sure."

Tim smirked and rubbed his leg, then sobered. Funny as it was, he still had the aftermath to deal with.

He sighed.
"...So then...someone knows. Possibly, probably more than one person. We...we knew this would happen eventually. And with people camped outside our house, they...they're bound to notice Hyde, too." He sounded hesitant, but it was clear enough where he was going with this. They couldn't hide much longer. And he wasn't just going to leave Tim high and dry and keep his own secret.
Maybe it was time.

"I don't know if they're actually planning on staying out there the whole time. But I'm sure they've done something to monitor where I go. They both seemed pretty on top of things." He stared off into space for a moment, considering their options. "I don't know, I still... kinda... want to try and keep it a secret. As long as I can. I mean, I don't even know what he was doing. What if he's not as dangerous here as he was back home?"

"...Honestly, he didn't seem all that bad to me. Confused, maybe. Agitated. Lost. But not really hostile. He seemed to decide I was all right." He worried at his lip for a beat, considering Tim's wish to keep his condition hidden...and a resolution forming.
"Then maybe...I should draw the focus to me. Hyde IS dangerous. That's a fact. Maybe if they're worried more about me, they'll worry a bit less about you. Maybe we could even get him to cooperate...tell them that he made you cover for him, and that's why you were wearing the mask...."
It was a shot in the dark, thinking out loud...regardless, it was Tom offering to put his neck on the chopping block for Tim's sake. He liked this kid - and he wanted to help.

"Hyde might be dangerous but there's no need to..." He bit his lip and looked at the ground. Was he just falling back into the need to cover up for himself? Was he being selfish. "You don't have to do anything. Especially something that will put yourself in danger." He glanced towards the window, he couldn't hear them out there anymore, but he was too exhausted to check. "Anyway, what do you think Hyde would do if the whole town knew? Would he go berserk?"
