Even if he had no idea what yogurt was.
He knocked politely on the door, and waited, a package in his hands. He hadn't been able to find everything he wanted, but hopefully...matcha and green tea pound cakes would go with yogurt. Right?

"Hey!" She greeted cheerfully, stepping out of the way so that he could come in.

"Hello!" He beamed at her, giving a small bow of greeting, before walking in. He was already untying his sandals with one hand.
"I'm Hanataro Yamada, pleased to meet you!"
Reply
"Nice to meet you," she said cheerfully to Hanataro, "It's Stephanie, if you didn't catch it before. Stephanie Brown." She moved to take the package out of his hands, to help him out. "Let me put that up?"

"And I'd be welcome to try it! This really is an experiment. I can't even guess what it'll taste like."
Reply
"I guess it wasn't really a staple food where you come from?" she joked. "You'll love it. It's basically the easiest food ever."
Reply
"No, we don't have a lot of yogurt where I'm from. Or much dairy." He chuckled, shaking his head. "There's a lot of rice. But there's a lot of ways to prepare it, so it's okay." He rubbed the back of his neck. He was chattering a lot, wasn't he? Like a little monkey. "Sorry, I've been told I'm boring! Hahaa. What's your home like?"
Reply
"Hey, I don't think it's that boring," Steph said, brightly. Maybe not the most interesting, but she didn't mind. As for her own home... "I don't really know what to say about mine, though. Came from a big city, and I can't really tell if this place is worse or not. I liked it, in a backwards kind of way, though."

Lucky Stephine. She didn't have to deal with cranky hungry people, broken windows, or the lighthouse raid. Maybe it was rather exciting to be here, but it was exhausting too.
"As for where I'm from...it's...very different. A different mentality, though it was a large...place, where I was from. I guess you could call it a city. Or a capital."

She nodded as he explained a bit about where he was from. "So, much bigger then? I guess this is pretty different."
Reply
"We're fine now. We have food, a bit of fog-we're doing well!
"But my place is a little...different, I guess. Since it houses a lot of people, not to mention the administration, jail...things like that. A city within a city. Everything here is so strange. Are the buildings here like those you have at home?"
Reply
She nodded to his explanation of where he had come from. It sounded like it was different enough. Not that that surprised her, really. "More or less," she said. "A lot more big buildings, but it's basically the same sort of style."
Reply
"Though the fog here can be...pretty horrible, I think." He muttered. She was free to ignore it. He knew he wasn't the most brave of people and really, here, it wasn't supposed to matter. It was irksome though. He didn't want to be screaming any everything that came along.
"Bigger buildings, like the houses? I wonder what they look like." He was curious. Curious as he was over the yogurt. "It must be...interesting as yogurt..."
Reply
"Bigger like twenty plus stories bigger," she said, but then she laughed out loud a little at his last comment. "Maybe, yeah," she said, and headed for her fridge to get the yoghurt out. "So let's get one of those mysteries solved, shall we?"
