After all the work he'd put into clearing the walk just to be able to reach the street had taken a lot out of him the day before, so he was actually glad Akihiko hadn't mentioned it again. Today he wasn't sore, but he wasn't really into the idea of leaving. Of course, if Aki woke up today and decided that's what he wanted to do, Shinjiro would go, just to keep his ass out of trouble.
Trouble had a way of finding Aki...or he was really good at finding it. Either way, half the time, it was as though Akihiko needed a babysitter, and for as long as he could remember, it had been his job. Weird how easy it was to fall back into things.
He sat on the cleared front porch, not smoking a cigarette which had him in a foul mood, but the air was nice. Sometimes being stuck inside just left him feeling cooped up. He was glad the wind had stopped at least.
