from the windows they were watching

Who: Jaime, Hope, Elaine, open
When: Day 40
Where: Out in town
What: Those pesky power limits finally catch up to Jaime.
Rating: Uhhh. Probably won't go over PG-13.

He'd been in the suit for about an hour, maybe a couple minutes give or take, looking for any stragglers who hadn't had the good sense to get out of the snow and wind. Without warning the armor had suddenly receded, leaving him in a t-shirt and jeans. In the snow. Needless to say, his patience was wearing quite thin.

"Scarab?! ¿Qué coño...?"

[error], the Scarab clicked back at him, somehow...nervous in tone.

He sighed, the goosebumps already forming on his skin. "Dumb town. Scarab, please, get the suit back up again?"

It obeyed.

Immediately he was wracked with a stunning pain he hadn't known in over a year. Jaime gasped aloud, falling to his knees even as the armor built up around his body--the Scarab seemed to tear through him like it had when he'd first gotten the armor, he bit back the urge to scream, to cry out as the cold hurt less and less compared to the acid, the burn that crawled so awfully upon his skin--

And it was over. Jaime took to the air again.

His head was really killing him. And why was the Scarab making him waver in the air so much today...?
Well, that didn't matter. He'd been out here too long, and he kept getting thrown off  track. The town was messing with him, he was certain. He had to get home. As soon as he could.
