Forecast: IT'S COLD.

Feb 04, 2011 22:02

Who: Akihiko and anybody crazy enough to be outside on Daffodil Street.
When: Day 39
Where: Outside. Somewhere. It's hard to see. (190 Daffodil)
What: Akihiko has wandered into Bell Pointe after leaving Tatsumi Memorial Hospital.
Rating: Uh...PG-13?

It wasn't that bad outside. Sure, it was a little chilly, but nothing to worry about. Akihiko felt like running. (When did he not feel like running?) He'd been feeling down and depressed all morning, but seeing Shinji did something to him. The fighting spirit was back.

Then the unexpected winter storm hit. He wasn't sure at what point things started looking less like Iwatodai and more like something out of one of those arctic adventure flicks on television. The number of buildings decreased. The familiar landmarks were not where they should be. And if they were? He couldn't see them. The snow just got worse and worse to the point that he could barely see.

But it was just snow. He could handle snow. Sure, he told Arisato to always bundle up, wear a scarf to shield her face, and have good insulated gloves to keep her hands warm... But she's not Akihiko Sanada. Who can take care of himself.

This is just another challenge of strength and will.

"Hnngh. Hnngh! Hnngh-aaahhhchoo!" He sneezed, sniffled, then held a hand over his nose and mouth as he continued stumbling through the accumulation. Feet were cold, hands were cold in those thin leather gloves,...everything, cold. The tears from his agitated eyes were surely freezing to his cheeks. But there was no stopping now.

Akihiko finally trudged up to the closest building he could find, turned the knob...and collapsed into the front entrance way with his face planted on the welcome mat.
