[The man, his overly tall frame bent awkwardly over the altar to light candles, looked up as the doors were thrown open. Straightening easily, he shook the long match he'd been using to put out the flame, and set it on the altar, in about the middle of the dark blood stain.

Ichigo was nowhere to be seen.

But the man only drew another match, withdrawing a few steps to light candles along the sides of the room. He struck it absently. And the low, thrumming chuckle lead easily into his words.]

[Renji immediately brandished Zabimaru, calling it into Shikai before the man could utter another word. Ichigo wasn't here, and that was the only thing that kept him from immediately lashing out.
