dear friends,
as most of you may know, i spent my summer in guatemala. i lived in san juan la laguna, a town known for its great artisans. to me, it was the best place ever. on friday, october 6, 2006 from 6:30-8:00PM, there will be a reception for the opening of an exhibit of oil paintings by mayan tz'utujil artists: Antonio Coche, Angelina Quic and Felipe Ujpan, from san juan la laguna, lake atitlan, guatemala.
the proceeds of the exhibit will go to supporting the re-development of their town that was severely affected by the october 2004 mudslides brought on by hurricane stan.
the reception takes place at Whole Foods, Inc. in Raleigh's Ridgewood shopping center.
I would be grateful if you could also pass the information along to as many people as you can. Thanks.
ciao,
ciara.
p.s. in tz'utujil kees means fart. (that is what i learned in san juan la laguna!)
