I haven't posted on Livejournal for a bit. But I guess I've been up to more than usual. I got my back tattoo finished, I got my leg tattoo finished, I got 1 Noir Nouar cupcake tattooed on me, and the outline of a second (a blueberry one!). And now I have to wait till October for another appointment with Vic (ya know... the tattoo artist). The cupcake was right by the ditch of my arm, so it healed really badly, BUT it is looking mostly normal and fine now. I think it'll survive without needing a touch-up. Maybe. Here's my finished back:
I still need a picture of my finished Aphrodite IX on my leg. She's a beauty! So colorful, and detailed. I also need a picture of Mr. Cupcake.
The last month of July I went to the San Diego Comic Convention. It was awesome!!! We were there for the 5 days, and I got to see awesome things, and meet awesome talent. Saw Dane Cook go up the escalator too. Robby and his friend Pete started cheering, "Yeaaaaaaah!" when he passed, and while going up the escalator he looked down over everyone and did his little "su-fi" thing and smiled all huge. Kinda weird seeing him in person. Usually when you recognize someone, your instinct is to go say hi, or maybe wave or something. But in this case, I recognized him, but...oh wait.... he doesn't know who the hell I am. It's kind of a bizarre confused feeling. lol.
Sarah Silverman was there, but I didn't see her. Damn. But I did see Brian Posehn (saw/met him at the Seattle comic-con also), Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Liv Tyler, Edward Norton, Jon Favreau... as far as television and movie people go. But comic book talent - I couldn't really list all of them. The convention was HUGE, and full of the talented little critters. Two in particular, though, that I was really really happy to meet were Ben Templesmith and Warren Ellis. Amazingly talented and friendly guys. I hope I didn't make too much of a nervous ass of myself. It's what I tend to do. Jesus.
Not sure who that woman is... but she was already standing there. =P
