Japan Trip Day 7 - Kyoto / Tokyo 10 May 2016

Dreary morning! It was so cold! It was time for us to head back to Tokyo but not before we go to Arashimaya Bamboo Forest. Had breafast at Vie De France after dragging our heavy luggages along the river. The ground was wet and slippery so the dragging process was not spectacular. Saw a lot of students standing in front of the Kyoto station in neat rows. Wondered what they were doing. Deposited our luggages at the Kyoto station and proceeded to find our breakfast. We really searched for breakfast all over Kyoto station. Seemed like breakfast is not a thing in Kyoto. None in sight except for this french place. Went to order their set which consisted of french toast and milk. Loved it!!! Lays' was sandwich and tea. But actually it was not enough for me. I went back to order another cheese tart and a cinnamon roll. Ate the cinammon roll it was yummy. Put the cheese tart in my bag. Lays was quite shocked I had the cheese tart in my bag when we reached. We took a bus to Arashimaya, took about an hour. I was listening to Everytime on repeat on the bus while Lays was sleeping, as usual. SNIGGERSSSSS. Anyway, we missed a stop because I wasn't quite sure where to alight. Oooops. It's all good, except that I really, really, really had to pee. The loo at the bridge was disgusting. But I used it anyway. When a man's gotta go, a man's gotta go. The river was nice!!! It's very... I don't know.. Clean? It was a cloudy day though. Did like a tree pose in the middle of nowhere. Liked that picture a lot, will find some way to post it on Instagram. Hahaha.

Was actually pretty annoyed at the people at the Bamboo forest. TOO MANY PEOPLE. But the bamboos look quite cool and impressive and I can get why Chow Yun Fatt wanna practise his kungfu there. Lololololol. Asked Lays where are the pandas, she said if there're pandas then why would there be bamboos? Rightttttt.

Went back to the JR station to take train back to Kyoto station. Erm, it was raining again!!! Very very cold. We waited at the waiting room at the platform. It was warm and comfy. Shared a packet of seaweed with Lays. We like finished it in 10 minutes. It was TaoKaeNoi though so I guess we could be excused for that. We wanted to get a shinkansen bento to eat on the train. I must say that it's vastly overrated? So cold! Not nice one. Anyway, Lays lost her brolly, she left it at the bento shop. Then when she walked back she walked back a different direction. Shouted for her but she didn't hear! Think the person beside me was erm a bit taken aback by my booming voice hahahha. Uh, anyway, we found the brolly and we took the train to Tokyo successfully.

I hate Shinjuku Station. Too many people!! We managed to find our apartment in the end though. Was rather fascinated by the home. Like, it looks very japanese. And it's on top of a Korean restaurant (which we did eat after that). Of course, I woke up to this painting of a god every day. It kinda wakes me up. Like ooooh soo scaryyyyy. A jolt to my morning slow senses. Hahaha. But I felt that it was very difficult to find the key to the apartment. It was very very well hidden. We couldn't open the door to the place which hid the key under a piece of blue paper. Anyway, I want to note down the fact that getting around in Japan apartments is like playing the Escape games. There are number combinations to open locks, and keys to xun xun mi mi, dark alleys, and clues given by apartment owners. Very fascinating.

We left the apartment for dinner. Shinjuku at night was so vibrant!!! So many people but so cool! Felt really excited. We wanted to eat Ichiran ramen but the waiting time was 40 minutes. So we settled for the shop next door. Vending machine system again. Didn't really like the curry. Prefer cocoichibanya.

Called it a night by buying a really huge bottle of Oolong Tea. Much love~~~~
