Yesterday went very well. I thoroughly enjoyed being Nevin and Jess's best person. I'm so very happy for them...they're very much in love and all glowing and hopeful. I wish them all good things. You should have seen them tango...the Argentines have nothing on them. I nominate them for Dancing with the Professors.
The only downer of yesterday is that I hurt my left foot. I've suspected for a little while now that I have arthritis or something going on in the joint of my left big toe. Yesterday, when I went to put on my heels for the ceremony, it just about killed me to bend my foot into the heel-wearing position. Nonetheless, I got into and wore the heels for about 1.5 hours until the ceremony and pictures were over, then changes into flats. I felt okay for the rest of the evening but...
...this morning, I could barely walk because that big toe joint was all swollen and so sore with sharp, awful pains. I drove to Annapolis to take the tuxes back to Men's Wearhouse, and then took myself straight to the medical clinic on KI. Fortunately, my regular doctor was the one on duty. He sent me over to the new AAMC-Kent Island for x-rays. So now I'm waiting to see what the results are. In the meantime, I'm to stay off the foot and ice it, and take this lovely painkiller that doc gave me. Damn. No exercising. No Cowboy Mouth concert on Friday. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the 5K on Sunday. Damn Damn Damn. I'm so freaking pissed off.
