the "hhhh-WWWWWHHHHHHy..."

so i didn't read my directions correctly... i should be working on a 7-8 page exegesis paper on ezekiel 37... i didn't know there were required commentaries, so stupid me, realizes this AFTER the library closes... i'll just have to do the rest tomorrow, the night before the paper's due, even though i've known about it all quarter... well, such is life... that's what college is about...

this has been such an awesome week so far... this weekend definitely helped that out...

this weekend...
*orchestra concert... definitely went well... played the entire italian symphony by mendelssohn...
*hung out a lot with andy, before and after marla's party in chan shun... played sequence, then mafia... when i was the cop and bystander, i was able to figure out who the mafia were hands down... first game: amber and robert... second game: yvonne and megan... doctor wouldn't save me, even though i was being overly vocal... ended up staying really late in andy's room afterwards, just talking...
*sunday, andy couldn't focus, so the two of us went to napa, just because... got some food, randomly ran into zac and krissy... ate outside of jamba juice, and just hung out, until we all got too cold...

monday...
*getting smacked in the face with saul music by cory... rasmussen had us saying "hhhh-WWWWWHHHHHHy," to the point that he wanted to see our music "fly forward..." either that, or part the "huge afro" of the person in front of us...
*raboy finding my fugue exposition to be amazing, and using me as the sight reader, to read through everyone else's fugues...
*janer bugging me in the lobby, haha...
*played in the recital, my three versets on organ... i love performing on the organ, b/c it doesn't feel like a performance... my back is to the audience, i have my music in front of me... i always walk off the stage, wondering whether or not i even played the entire piece...
*watched cory's intramural game, then talked with other cory (bosse) about his high school experiences on the way up to the dorm...

tuesday...
*tim pouring iced tea on my hair...
*playing for kara and jonny in vocal performance class...
*BAQ practice... oh yeah! man, we all needed it... started learning a new song, and pretty much put it together in roughly 20 minutes... definitely some polishing needs to be done, but it's gonna be amazing... got us all excited about singing again, especially as a break from serious choir singing...
*stalling the two-hour practice time with kara after orchestra... got a really amazing massage from yvonne at the end of the rehearsal... that rehearsal was EXHAUSTING, and i was only there for half of it...

today...
*ANDY WINS THE ELECTION! it's amazing to know that one of my best friends is SA president for next year... runoff between stacy and enoc for RVP... i hope things turn out right...
*skipped three classes today... man, i needed it, though... skipped prophets, my lab, and wind ensemble... the first two, opting for a nap, and the last one, to just be with friends...
*i cantori was a lot of fun, though... blasting high G's with josh, flicking josh, cracking jokes with ivy, the "i was GLAD" fist with darrin...
*darrin's practicum choir... i'm definitely hyper in choir situations... i'm gonna miss it a lot next year, i will admit...
*andy's cell group tonight... definitely needed that... seeing a whole bunch of people, wanting to get together and discuss their thoughts...
*talking with pamela on the phone for almost two hours... definitely sweet, just talking with a good friend on the phone...
*tv talk with jonny garza... he's making me wonder how much i've spent on DVD's alone... eek...

it's amazing seeing how much people have grown within a year... during andy's cell group, there were people that have not been as far along in their journey of life... it's great to see people mature... it's also nice to see people in a different light... some people, i only know through negative situations... one person, i always hear, fighting on the phone, and that's the impression that sticks... it's nice to see them grappling with spiritual ideas...

it makes me wonder whether or not the initial image people have of me is a positive one... i understand that we're allowed to have our down moments, when things go sour... hopefully, those moments aren't what define us...

so i've been really rebellious this quarter, in terms of school... i've never ditched so many classes, and turned down people's requests... people ask me to play, and i say no... but hey, this is probably the best quarter of college i've ever had, hands down... i guess there should be some bell curve, that describes how much fun you can have, without sacrificing too much responsibility... =P

baq, thoughts, performance
