the "hallway reunion..."
this last sabbath was awesome... fun times warming up with tim and josh... choir did really well on our first anthem of the year... mr rasmussen was smarter this year and included the congregation, and the piece itself was easier... doable for the first week of school... our praise band: jessica/nathan/brian/jonny/levi/daylene/devann/nayshi/jaylene/me played so well... nothing's better than three-part girl trios... maybe i mentioned it earlier, but i'll say it again! our special music with tanya and the band was effective as well... tanya really communicated the song well: please come, by nicole nordeman... good song...
since i was in the praise band, after the service i had to greet people as they left church, and i didn't realize that i blasted my vocal cords away, b/c i could barely talk as i wished people a "happy sabbath..." had a great conversation with cammie and andy in church, though... mostly about media, movies, and tv, but still great... lunch was shared discussing john williams' plagiarism of himself... try humming the ET theme song, then the star wars theme song, then the superman theme song, then the raiders of the lost ark theme song... hum the schindler's list theme song, then the harry potter theme song... yes...
did the whole sabbath nap deal, and didn't really do much that night, but andy and i did have a great 3am conversation by accident... mostly about the usual "is my life heading in the right direction" conversation, which always yields wisdom nuggets... we also both came to the conclusion that as hard as we try to be nice to everybody, we just need to start forming a tight group of close, quality friends, to make life easier for all of us...
jonny and i had a roommate conversation the night before, both agreeing to warn each other when we're annoying, as well as understanding each others' personal tastes and characteristics... jonny's been a great roommate so far, really considerate... that's all i need: someone that cares about me, and returns the effort that i give...
pamela called me on sunday, and we talked for two hours on the phone... it's nice to know that she trusts me enough to vent, and that she trusts me enough to share her life with me... i just hope my sister finds more peace with her life right now, and that everything works itself out... it's always so nice to talk to friends on the phone, even if i feel robbed of that face time...
today was one of those neverending homework days... when i thought i was done, i'd remember something else, and that's how the whole day went... good thing josh and andy wanted one of those "hallway reunions," where we just sit and talk outside our rooms, causing a roadblock for anyone trying to walk by... good times... and of course, they tend to lead into random outbreaks of songs...
