First of all, my main concern is did I spell conglomeration correctly? I'm getting lazier in the mornings, because normally I would look it up...but I just don't feel like it. So, if it is misspelled, PLEASE forgive me and don't call the grammar police.
Today I am happy for a lot of things...the most important being that Lisa and I finally move into our Seaside housing today. No more spending $90 a week to live at the 1876 Heritage Inn in Orange City (good riddance, Orange City--while I feel like I hardly knew ye, I can easily say I hardly care). No more getting up at 8 AM just so we can leave by 9 AM to be at work by 10 AM. No more living in a one room living space with no way of cooking food other than a microwave. And no more screaming children running down the hallway at early hours on our day off. It's back to Chanute, ladies and gentlemen--Lisa and I will share an apartment, and life will be happiness indeed.
I am also happy today because I received the most fabulous invitation in my e-mail this morning from Luerne Herrera. If ANY of you are interested in participating in LuLu's event, PLEASE do. Time spent with Luerne is like Heaven on Earth--and if you like to sing and sight read, this will also be Heaven on Earth. Here's some details:

Chorus Snobs Local #364
Host: Luerne Herrera
Location: Windermere, FL
When: Saturday, May 13th, 8 PM
That's right -- let's have a good ol'-fashioned hootenanny with a couple motets thrown in for good measure. I'm inviting some of the best sight readers I know to come over and sight read music. Dorky, I know. But secretly very exciting.
I'll have snacks and voice-friendly drinks available. You can bring anything else you want (even donations to the "that's a lot of copies and binders" fund).
If you have any music to bring, it'd be great if there were at least 21 copies (I'm trying for 5/part plus pianist). I'll have some packets available. Please feel free to forward this to any sight-readers you know. I don't have a lot of e-mail addresses, so I'll be trying to track them down and add them when I can.
When RSVPing, please put the voice part you'd like to sing.
Seriously. How geeky is this party?

If you are interested in attending this shindig, PLEASE send me a note and I will happily pass your e-mail along to Luerne so she can send you the official invitation. I don't want to post LuLu's phone number or e-mail address on my blog, as who knows which of her stalkers regularly read mine.
I'm also happy to post auditions for another venture being produced by Theatre Downtown directed by Steve MacKinnon. It appears they are looking for a few quality actors (and a few quality bodies in bathing suits) for their upcoming production of Psycho Beach Party. Anyone unfamiliar with Psycho Beach Party should check out the remarkably faithful film version available at your local Blockbuster. It's pretty fantastic. And damn funny. Interested parties should contact Fran or Steve at Theatre Downtown: 407-841-0083.
Nothing makes me happier, however, than the thought of the SMT season getting underway. A lot of my favorite people are returning this summer, and a lot of new friends are about to be made. I'm excited about Jesus Christ Superstar (starring Greg Mills as Jesus, Jaygee Macapugay as Mary Magdelene, and Daniel Cochran Torres as Judas), A Little Night Music (such a beautiful show, and featuring a dynamite cast), and a show that is new to me, The Threepenny Opera. Singin' in the Rain will make me happy and excited, too--but it seems so far away right now. And what else about this summer season thrills me? Justin Sargent is in the company. THAT is just fabulous.
Did I mention that I saw a high school production of Evita last week? It was wonderful. A stage full of kids doing remarkable work with a very complicated score and very complicated characters. I love seeing other teachers dare to be brave and do theatre that is not typically high school faire. It was produced by University High School in Orlando. I was honored to be asked to come see it after being their one-act adjudicator for their production of "Johnny Belinda" at State. It was terrific.
Oh yes...American Dreamz gets a C- from me (it was working nicely for me until the characters played by Mandy Moore, who should never act again by the way, and Hugh Grant hooked up). Stick It gets a B+. The Pick 3 Appetizers/Desserts at Bennigans gets an A+.
How does everyone feel about this United 93 film? I'm torn. When I first saw the preview for it, I decided I didn't want to see it. But as I continue to read more articles about it, I do want to see it. On the other hand, I also don't know if I'm ready to relive that day yet.
I'm sad that I'm having a bad hair day today, but I'm happy to be wearing short sleeves. It's a gorgeous day today.
Well, I have some work to do. I'm about to make a master conductor copy of the Night Music score. It's a big score to copy. And it's bound. Why can't everything be SPIRAL bound these days? Life would be so much easier with the copy machine.
Meanwhile, tonight is Julius Caesar in the park: TAKE TWO!
Much love to all!
