Kentucky makes me HOT!

So, Beauty and the Beast has come to an end, and lucky for me, I have been offered a job for the summer with Seaside Music Theater--and I'm very, very, very excited.  Details later.

The show was a great commercial success for the theatre, and despite the fire and brimstone that surrounded tech week and the minor catastrophes during the run, it was a great experience that I don't regret being a part of.  And, of course, I have made a few new friends to add to the pile that I've already made in SMT productions past.  I think I'm most proud of my new friendship with Ben Franklin and Jen Semrick, both of whom kept me sane and cool in the week leading up to opening.  These are phenomenal performers with amazing hearts.

This past Monday, I went to Disney with Ben Franklin, Sean Campos, Ben Simpson (the Salt Shaker), and Lisa Hendershot (a wonderful addition to the "family").  Thanks to my dear friend Heather Cameron Seabolt and Ben F.'s dear friend John Barr, we were able to get into all four parks for free as well as have some VIP treatment while we were at Epcot.  One of the highlights of the day, aside from being with wonderful people, was the new attraction Soarin'.  It's AMAZING.  It will take your breath away.  The Wishes celebration at the Magic Kingdom also floored me.  Very beautiful fireworks display.  Loved it.

So, you may ask why Kentucky makes me hot.  Well, Kentucky actually makes me cold, but it's fun nonetheless.  I decided to come to Kentucky with my friend Lisa to keep her company as she makes the journey from here back to Florida to start her new position with Seaside Music Theater.  We'll be here through next Monday and then travel back on Tuesday.  It's weird being in a college town again.  I went to a WKU theatre department fundraiser last night and then went to a theatre department after-party.  It was a lot of fun.  And two of Lisa's friends in particular are pretty goddamn fabulous--and I'm hoping they will be new members of the "family" in record time.

Well, that's all to update for now.

I'm still alive.  And just as a reminder.  My new cell phone number is 386-847-6585.  Do NOT call 386-314-3398.  The person who has that number now is tired of getting phone calls and text messages for Matty.  :o)

XOXO!
