History:On September 29, 1998, Leon arrived at the city of his new job as a policeman. He was a few days late for his scheduled arrival (due to getting drunk at a party, driving to a motel, and then oversleeping). However, because of this, he was spared from the outbreak at the police department. He drives to the city (on a highway that is, somehow, not blockaded by the military, who was supposed to have done so already. Yeah, inconsistencies FTW.) to find it already infected by tons of zombies. Soon afterwards, he meets up with another survivor, Claire Redfield, who had driven to the city in search of her brother, Chris Redfield. However, they get separated after Leon's police car gets destroyed by an infected driving a truck. They then had to find a way out of the city separately.

As he is exploring the police department, he runs into another survivor named Ada, who claims she's searching for her missing boyfriend (ha, yeah right). They begin going through the city together and form quite a bond, to the point that Leon takes a bullet for her (which was fired by Annette Birkin, Sherry's mother). However, Ada gets wounded by William Birkin later and, around this time, Leon hears from Annette that Ada is really a spy that came to steal the G-Virus. Leon doesn't believe this, however, until Ada tells him herself as she holds a gun to him. She tells him everything and then ends up falling to her 'death.' (When examining her gun, he finds there were no bullets, so she wasn't go to shoot him after all, awww). He eventually ends up having to fight a tyrant and someone with Ada's silhouette and voice hands him a rocket launcher to finish the job. He then ends up reuniting with Claire and Sherry and make their escape via train, leaving the G-virus infected William Birkin to be destroyed in the self-destruct sequence.

Leon looks after Sherry while Claire goes off to search for her brother. However, he ends up having to give up custody due to his work (blackmailed into working for the government, so she would be kept safe). Very little is explained of this, but it's implied that the men who came to take her away were possibly working for Umbrella.

He joins a Lacour government agency and participates in several missions over the next five years. During this, he pushes himself to the limit and changes from rookie cop to one of the best agents in the world. However, he starts showing signs of some superhuman abilities. Using the excuse that it was merely some of the pills the government provided him with on his missions, he was able to get by without detection as a possible threat, as anyone with untrained magical abilities could be considered hazardous to the mission.

Sometime during this, Leon goes to a little area in Centra where a small village is at. Here, he and his partner, Jack Krauser, discover the village to be completely infected by Umbrella's T-Virus as well as variations of the Veronica virus (the same experimental mana virus put in Steve Burnside). While here, they meet a girl named Manuela and discover that her father put the Veronica virus inside her to hopefully save her from a deadly disease. To keep her from showing bad signs of infection, however, he had to transplant other girls' organs to her regularly. Knowing this, she just wanted to die, but she helped Leon and Krauser defeat her father once and for all and then went with them to Lacour to hopefully get help.

((Sometime in 2001, the events of Gaiden take place, which starts off with Leon, at the time a member of an anti-Umbrella organization, being sent off to destroy a possible prototype BOW on a luxury cruiser called the Starlight. Contact is lost with him, however, and after 24 hours of no response, Barry Burton is sent in to help. Leon is found unconscious and they eventually find Lucia, a survivor, and after several turn of events, they eventually kill the BOW, which was a parasite living inside Lucia that is removed. At the end, Leon is seen writing his report, but a zoom in on a small cut on his neck shows he is bleeding green, which says he is actually the shape-shifting tyrant. This, however, is most likely not canon, as the events of RE4 and DC happened after this and he was apparently human during this. I may explore this area of his possible canon during the game, but I'm not sure. I'll see how it goes.))

In 2004, Leon is assigned to the protect Lacour's president's family. However, his first mission is to rescue Ashley Graham, the president's daughter, when she is kidnapped and taken to a remote area of El. Leon goes on his own and ends up getting stranded as his escorts from the local police are killed and their car crashed and useless. Leon soon discovers that the locals are hostile and not in their right mind. He then finds out that they are infected with a parasite known as Las Plagas. The cult running this whole thing is known as the Los Illuminados, run by a man named Osmund Saddler. Using the Las Plagas, he controls those infected to do his bidding, which, at the time, is to find and kill Leon and to kidnap Ashley whenever Leon gets ahold of her. Leon is infected with las Plagas and it slowly begins to grow inside him as he goes about his mission. He runs into a man named Luis Sera, who was a researcher working for Saddler but betrayed him. Luis notices he and Ashley are infected and goes about finding some pills to slow the growth of the parasite to help them as well as the sample of the parasite so it could be handed to the right people. Luis helps Leon on a few occasions, but he is eventually killed by Saddler, who takes the sample from him and leaves. Luis gives Leon the pills with his last dying breath and Leon swears to get revenge for him. Leon also runs into the apparently NOT dead Ada, who also helps him on some occasions but keeps herself very secretive as it is later revealed she is working for Wesker and is there to get the sample for him.

Ashley gets abducted MANY times and Leon saves her MANY times and eventually they end up in a military base filled with many of Saddler's cult as well as himself. In this base, they find a machine developed by Luis that uses special radiation to destroy the Plagas within them. After this, Leon battles Saddler and Ada retrieves the sample, leaving in a helicoptor. However, before she leaves, she sets the island to self destruct and then gives Leon a key to a jet-ski, which he then has to rush against time to get to and drive himself and Ashley to safety. After they are safe, Ashley asks him if, when they get home, he'd like to do some 'overtime.' He turns her down nicely and they drive off toward home.

After this, Leon discovers his powers growing stronger in an astronomically fast rate. The only explanation must be a side effect of the infection by the las Plagas. He tries to hide it as best he can, but it gets hard to in a pinch.

In 2005, an outbreak of the t-virus in an airport terminal brings Leon onto the scene again. The government sends the military in as well as the Special Response Team. Leon is sent to lead the SRT in taking control of the situation and saving the survivors at the airport, which include a certain Claire Redfield. Under his command, they learn how to effectively kill the zombies, but not without the sacrifice of one of their members. After this, Leon becomes involved in a battle involving a G-virus-infected Curtis Miller, Angela Miller, and several military men at WilPharma. He saves Angela and kills Curtis. After this, they expose Frederic Downing for taking samples of the G-Virus and t-virus from Raccoon, using WilPharma to create a vaccine, setting the t-virus free at the airport, setting a time bomb at WilPharma, and attempting to secretly sell the t-virus with its vaccine as well as the G-virus and the last remaining data on the G-virus. Leon and Claire part as Leon is pulled away on another mission and they hope to meet back up under more 'normal' circumstances.

At some point after this, Leon starts getting letters from Estrasia. He trie sto ignore them, just wanting to continue with his current lifestyle, just wanting to fight in every way he can against Umbrella and its legacy. But his higher-ups discover the letters, and, knowing his powers must be pretty strong by that point and knowing Leon was hiding them, sends Leon off to the academy despite his wishes, telling him that they have a different field for that and he could join that once he could harness his powers better.

Personality: Leon is one of those guys who tries to keep a good attitude when he can, especially around other people. However, if they need to be 'snapped out of it' then he's more than willing to do so. He knows when it's okay to joke and when it's best to be serious. However, that doesn't stop him from sometimes putting in inappropriate jokes during a serious time to frustrate or annoy his enemies. However, usually, the jokes are just for his own benefit to try and keep himself calmed down. After all, killing infected is a very stressful job. He's got to make it more bearable somehow, right?

He's only shown one time in which jokes did not come into the question at all. This was during the WilPharma incident. Whether this is because it was a very populated area that was still able to be saved and the infection contained or because of outside problems, no one can really know for sure. To change so much within a year of RE4 seems unlikely, though. So most view this as one of his 'moods' and only temporary.

He will do anything to protect the innocent (or people he thinks are innocent anyway). He puts himself in harm's way many, many times to save people, but is very good at it as he's still alive thus far. He tries to keep a good attitude about his situation and he can very easily trust people (aka Ada and Krauser), but when things happen, he responds as best he can to the situation. So, even when betrayed, he will still put his life and the lives of those he needs to protect first instead of losing his cool.

♜ SAMPLES
Third Person Sample: He knew he should feel more exhausted now. More pained. It should hurt. He'd felt the axes and pitchforks slice into him, yet he couldn't find any trace of them. He knew he'd been hit by their guns, but he could find no bullet wounds. He knew Krauser's knife had kissed his face, but there was absolutely no trace of it. No scars. No wounds. No bruises.

It scared the hell out of him.

He stood in his apartment, looking over his form in the mirror, knowing he should be finding traces on his body of the scars on his mind. He could still see their faces, soulless but not mindless. Not zombies. Something worse. Gross monsters rushing at him. Tentacles slicing into his form. Dogs jumping on him and biting into his throat. Giants grabbing him up like a ragdoll, squeezing him hard enough it should have made his head explode. Large, overgrown spider-like creatures rushing at him. Hell, a giant damn FISH, for fuck's sake!

Infection. The creature crawling around inside him, trying to overcome his body, take over the vessel, gain more space. Bleeding, coughing up blood, feeling it's tendrils grasping to his spinal cord. Dizziness. Confusion. Sickness. His fingers grasping at Ada's throat, seeing it but not finding control. So sure he was going to kill her....

He should be dead. Not just scarred. Dead. He should have died back then...

He was shocked out of his thoughts by his phone ringing. He grabbed it up and held it to his ear, still staring at his reflection in the mirror. He heard the voice but didn't comprehend the words. The voice was sincere, excited to know he was back. Glad he was alive. A voice he enjoyed hearing, enjoyed how calm she made him feel.

But he could hardly feel that calm now. He could only feel fear.

"...Claire...I think I need...I need to talk...in person....Something...Something's wrong with me."

The silence that followed was deafening.

First Person Sample: Well, guys, guess what time it is? PE time again! Yeah, I'm sure you guys are looking forward to it. That's why we're going to have perfect attendance this semester, right? Even during health education. This means no skipping sex ed. I don't care how much you know about it already, we'll drill it into your heads again! I know how much it's been drilled in my head. Not gonna cut you any slack. So, be sure to come to class this semester, or I'll come and find ya, get it? (He smirks, tilting his head enough to move his hair out of his vision.) Come on, it'll be fun. I promise.
