Lately I have been extremely frustrated with college. I feel like I'm not learning how to do anything useful. This feeling is only made worse by all the people I know who have masters degrees and work the same jobs as kids who just got out of high-school.
I chose to study marketing and then Library Science because I will in theory be learning how to do something something (how to market things and how to be a librarian), but even these skills seam as if they are not that great to have. I risk sounding like a stupid hippie here but I want to just farm and build houses and barns and do something with my hands.
Recently when I sit at the Library I've started to read all these books about how to build stuff, like log cabins and fireplaces and dulcimers and that's the kind of stuff I wish I did. I fixed some cracks in the wall in our house because flys were getting in and I felt really good afterwords. The same thing when I carved this leather bag for my friend and when I built a tree fort with my little sister. It may be some sort of gender bias but I kinda feel like men are supposed to know how to fix things. My Dad was/is the kind of guy who could fix anything and I allays admired that in him. there is this nice sense of self sufficiency.
I think it is harder today to know how to fix everything because everything is made out of computers and plastic.

-Goals-

*Buy a moped
*Get Masters in Library Science
