so i came home from the roskilde festival late monday night. once again i've had a nice festival! shit, i really build a lot of my identity on roskilde, i know, but it suits me so fine! anyway; this is how it was:
for the first time i took a day bus down, and it really was much more comfortable than a night bus! i met a couple of guys from my camp in oslo so i didn't have to travel alone, the bus driver was young and adorably cute and when we finally reached the festival area i wasn't deadly tired and in the mood for a lot of beers:) some friends had gotten there early and found a perfect camp spot in the same area as we always camp. this camp was the best for sure, so very central! and even tho' a lot of my friends didn't came this year and i really didn't know any in my camp for the first days, it was perhaps the funniest camp i've stayed in! the youngest boy was 15 and the oldest almost 24 - it was cool to have such a big age span, i think! the weather was better than last year as well (so much mud you can't believe it!); hot and dusty. so when i came home i was approximately as dirty as last year, all covered in tiny particles of sand and my snot was black. but yeah, the weather did help on the atmosphere! the bad things about this year was that it seemed to be much more marijuana and more stealing. thankfully nothing from me! and it was a bit sad that so few of my friends came, but i did meet
hallr so, for the first days i was mostly sitting in my camp or in my room mate's camp and drinking that sweet danish beer which got so good and temperated in the sun;) or i was running around trying to convince swedish boys i actually was swedish and not norwegian. don't know why i did that since swedish boys usually prefer norwegian girls to swedish ones! but it sure was fun when it did work;) one day i went to the cinema and finally saw big fish. that was when i by coincidence sat down beside my room mate! i knew she was at roskilde but we didn't plan to meet at the cinema! anyway, i did of course love big fish, it's a fantastic movie! so beautiful, sad and yet funny like tim burton's films usually are:)
on thursday all the concerts started. of course i didn't get to see half of the bands i wanted too, that happens all the time:( the first day i saw sonic youth and letigre. typically, they did collide:( so i saw the beginning of sonic youth and they were absolutely fabulous! the same can be said about le tigre, i loved those trashy dances they danced;)
friday started with the end of the be good tanyas. some very sweet country - one kind of music i totally adore! they did talk a bit too much in between the songs tho', i came to realize i can't stand that. after wards i think i went back to the camp for some beer, at least i didn't see neither snoop dogg nor audioslave. but i did see the tears, brett anderson's and bernard butler's new band. they were really good! brett took his shirt off and walked around the audience - he's so hot! later on everybody went to see black sabbath. ozzy can NOT sing anymore, but he seemed to be in good shape and the concert gave me goose bumps! i can't believe i've actually seen sabbath!!! i went to sleep happy that night.¨
saturday we stood in the first row on bjørn berge. he's a norwegian blues guitarist and a guitar god! once he tried to bring my friend to his hotel room but she said no. she still stood front row with us tho';) well, then off to fantômas, a mike patton project. i knew it would be weird and experimental and hadn't plan to stay there long. so i didn't, i'd had enough after 20 minutes. but it was cool to see and they had the biggest drum set ever! the weather was a bit too hot for me for foo fighters and green day (too bad since i heard they did a fantastic concert), instead i saw the danish band the raveonettes. 60's garage rock, perfect for dancing:) so i danced:) and was too tired to see duran duran and had another night's good sleep instead.
as usual sunday was a bit sad as i hate endings:( and i really didn't see many bands either. turboneger played at three o'clock at the orange stage (the big one) and i was there, of course. for the first time in front at orange - i earned a zillion dollars for that;) but i've been to better turbo gigs, the weather was just a little bit too nice for them and the crowd didn't go bananas:( still, i was too tired for ...and you will know us by the trail of dead. i was also a bit too tired for bloc party. i was there for a while but i don't know what to say about them. on brian wilson i could sit down and enjoy in peace, that was nice. untill i had to run to get a good spot at the last concert i saw, namely interpol. they didn't say a word (which i now like) and did a really good concert:) a perfect ending. all in all most of the bands i saw this year were good:D
then the infamous last night began. it was quite crazy this year. more fires than before, toilet paper everywhere and people were banging on a big container with tent sticks all fucking night! the boys in my camp went treasure hunting and found a carpet, lots of chairs and even a big mattress for our camp. i feel asleep on that mattress, so much softer than sleeping in my tent. when i woke up it was sad because we had to leave. we went on the bus, drove to helsingør in denmark and took the ferry to helsingborg in sweden. we had to go off the bus on the ferry and when we went back on it we'd lost two from our company. and the stupid fascist bus driver just left them! he was not as cute as the other bus driver AT ALL:( so they had to wait for another bus and we had to carry their heavy back packs when we came to norway and had to change buses. but we came home and it did not feel bad at all to take a shower;)
and i'd gotten my birthday present from
kvetina. thank you darling, it was so cute:) i can't believe you remembered bad badzt maru is my fave;)
